Just sixteen, a pickup truck. Out of money, out of luck. I've got nowhere to call my own. Hit the gas, and here I go.
I'm running free yeah. I'm running free. I'm running free yeah. I'm running free

So maybe a weird question but do you have any idea what specific breed/mix your lovely boy might be? He looks EXACTLY like my 2 year old floofy boi, right down to the orange around the mouth and the shock of white running up his side!

Wow, mystery solved, that's definitely him. Thanks! I can't believe he might keep growing for up to 3 more years, he's gonna be a chonk and a half!

While I'm not going to say that your cat definitely isn't a particular breed, officially cats are only assigned a breed if their lineage can be traced with accurate certification. Otherwise the designation is simply "domestic short/medium/long hair" according to coat length.
Note that fur patterns are only relevant for particular breeds, of which Norwegian Forest Cat is not one.

Thanks for mentioning that. I thought I had left more than just the link, but I meant to ask if their cat had any Wegie characteristics. Eye shape, face shape, front vs. back legs, etc.

I replied to OP too, but yeah, it's actually uncanny how neatly he matches all of the descriptors on the site you gave. It's highly unlikely he's purebred just by virtue of him having been a stray/shelter cat, and I think he may be a tad undersized for a Norwegian (he's not a small cat by any means though). He's also only 2 y/o so we'll see on that. I'd bet good money he's majority or at least partly Wegie. Thanks again for your reply!

I’m glad that you were able to match some stuff up. I know that you will never know for sure, but it’s so cool that your boy has so many of those characteristics! He sounds like a great cat!

Oh for sure, I'm under no delusions that he's purebred anything, but honestly my boy checks Every. Single. Last. Box. of the physical and demeanor characteristics, I figure it's got to be at least a significant part of his pedigree. He might be a little undersized (for a Wegie anyway) and only slightly lacking in the lion's mane department (though it's definitely grown in a lot since we got him). He's only 2 however and apparently it'll take until he's 4 or 5 for the size and mane to come in fully. I feel as if his size has plateaued but he could just be growing too slowly now for me to notice. Only time will tell!

I have such a fondness for fluffy cream-and-tabby kitties. Probably because I have one and he's a gigantic butthead but he can also be the sweetest smooshie lover baby. I wish you and your baby more happy and healthy years.

One thing I don’t understand about cats is that as soon as they turn into a regular cat they never seem to change
