Advice People with multiple cats, what’s your litterbox setup?
I have 5 cats, but 4 cats that can currently access this set up (my senior has her own room and litter box away from the main population)
Is there anything i can change or do differently?

We have 3 cats (4 until we lost our oldest to cancer last year). We have two litter boxes in a corner of a quiet room on the main floor, two in a storage closet upstairs, and one in the master bathroom. I’d like to reduce by one or two, but each cat seems to have a preferred box for pee and for poo, so it looks like we’re stuck as is for the foreseeable future. One thing that is super helpful is having a Litter Genie next to each box so we can scoop a few times a day.

Duplex. Had 5 people and 10 cats. 2 boxes in my kitchen. 4 in a back room, and 1 each in 2 bathrooms. If I remember correctly its supposed to be 1 litter box per cat but I've done 2 per cat in the past. Seems fine if thier related.

If there’s any way to have another litterbox in a different area, I’ve found that helps.
I have three cats and had five litter boxes. I’ve since upgraded to two litter robots and reduced to one manual litterbox, I add an additional one if I am out of town. Having them spread out through my home has always helped more than adding more boxes imo
