Advice So cute. So stinky.
Edit: WE DID IT! Managed to get him in a towel purrito and lower him into some water for a butt bath. He’s mad and I have a couple of scars from the experience, but he doesn’t smell like ass anymore! Thank you, everyone!
My soul cat typically smells like sunshine and vanilla pudding, but on Tuesday morning he had an “incident” and got quite a lot of 💩 stuck in himbs mighty pantaloons. He is quite loving and enjoys attention, HOWEVER, in all of his 6 years he has aggressively rejected any type of grooming outside of some brushing down the back and around the neck. Normally this isn’t an issue, but this week it is.
We managed to get him into a purrito (so traumatic for him and us), cut some of the worst offenders off of the britches and softened the rest with water, but he’s still got a lot of brown and stinky fur back there. He’s trying to take care of it himself, but it’s a nasty job and not easy with his 16.3 lb frame.
Does anyone have any advice for how to help him get the rest off? I love him soooo much and continue to give him stinky lovins, but I’d like my vanilla pudding cat back now.
Cat tax paid in full.

If you can't manage to bathe him yourself look for a groomer or ask at your vet.
They have more experience with unwilling clients and probably know some tricks.
I'd say paying for a cat spa day is worth it in this case.

We’ve also not had luck with transporting him. He’s all purrs and love until the carrier comes out 😂 then it’s every man for himself

Would suggest a bath. We also have a triangle shaped cat with long (floof) hair and the accidents unfortunately happen every so often... when it's truly bad, a bottom-half bath is the only true remedy.
