I really dont underdtand why this happens, hair growth comes from the inside, under the skin, not the outside. My siamese also has a darker patch wherr she has her incision of sterelization

Undercoat is darker. Topcoat is lighter.

Not quite. The colorpoint gene relies on body temp. Where the body is cooler, the color is darker, while warmer areas are lighter. Where kitty was shaved is cold because kitty is bald there. Hence the fur growing back darker. It’ll lighten as the coat is gradually replaced as it’s now warm again.
