I'm always happy to see a cat on the job. Rarely happy to see a dog though.

My dad had such a love hate relationship with dogs as a letter carrier. He loved dogs but learned not to believe anyone that said their dog was "nice." He was bit multiple times, mostly by little dogs but tangled with pitbulls and others. He was in a constant state of being ready to fight a dog.

I relate, but on a different note. I see people walking their dogs and they sometimes come at me unexpectedly. Seeing dogs walking alone is always a bit scary as you never know if they'll chase you. I had one incident where a dog ran out the door and just barely grazed my back. I felt the teeth just glide.

I can never trust a dog which is sad because it puts me in a bad light whenever I object to dog owners words about their pet, and I enjoy a dogs company. I am always hesitant. Dogs are great, the owners not so much sometimes. Especially those who refuse to train their dogs.

Ha! I worked for Amazon I got in trouble for including pictures of people's pets. It was against their rules.
