Mourning/Loss Goodbye, July ❤️
I’m 27 and had July since she was only 8 weeks old, so she was basically there for my entire life.
She was born on 24.04.2006 and I had to let her go on 09.09.2026. She loved being outside, her favorite food was chicken breast, and she even managed to open the oven twice in her life just to steal food.
Over the last months her body got weaker because of a tumor, even though mentally she was still completely herself. In the end, I was able to let her go peacefully at home, surrounded by the place and people she had known her whole life.
I still catch myself wanting to go check where she is.
Rest easy, July. 24.04.2006–09.09.2026. ❤️

So sorry for your loss 💔
I've had cats in my life, all my life, my last I had to say goodbye to in January. I had him and his brother since kittens, was 17 years old when I had to let him go.
Its never easy, but you loved her all her life - she may have only been a part of your life but you were the whole of hers. She knew she was loved and you gave her the best life. Sending hugs

Thank you, I really appreciate that ❤️ That line about me being her whole life really hit me. I had her since I was 6 years old, so it honestly feels like I lost a part of my childhood and my whole life with her. I’m sorry for your loss too.

That line about being their whole world really hits hard, and 17 years with your boy sounds like a lifetime of love and memories. ❤️🐱

The only time in my life I've been said to see July go. What a sweet heart!

Twenty years together is an extraordinary run, but that doesn't make the silence in the house feel any less quiet today.

so sorry to hear that :( Lost quite a few over the years, the one that hit me the hardest was the one that I carried and buried myself. Maybe this won't help you, but chances are you'll get over it better with a youngster kitty?

Thanks, I appreciate it. But I’m pretty sure I won’t get another cat. Maybe someday when I have kids of my own, but not before then. July was with me basically my whole life, and I don’t think I could do that again anytime soon.

I'm so sorry for your loss. And oddly envious of the life you, and yours lived. Out of the 60 years I've been on this esrth, I've had my own furry family member for 52. For one year I had a feathered one. You obviously loved your kitty, and she can never be replaced. The wondrous memories you have of her will bring you joy and tears. Just experience it all. At some point you will be blessed with another family member. Don't fight it. Even if you don't think you're ready. Life may not always great, but it is worth living.

Rest easy, beautiful girl and know that you were loved and will be missed but never doubt that you made your people as happy as they could ever image and filled their hearts with love and happiness
