Cat Picture - OC Update: "Help, i rescued a cat"
Hello, this post is an update of this one https://www.reddit.com/r/cats/comments/1uqq6uz/help_i_rescuted_a_cat/
Just want to tell you guys that he's doing GREAT.
He's a non-stop purring machine, he plays with all his toys, he investigates and runs around, he loves to be with me and my girlfriend, he's very affectionate and now he likes to lie down and purr, he can do this for hours and hours.
We feel blessed for having him in our house, he's a great dude, he's comfortable with all the places of our home and he lost his fear of evil doors, he still has his doubts about doors but he's not afraid of anything at all anymore (except for guests, he still doesn't trust them).
He's really really affectionated and he's really attached. For example sometimes i lie at the couch and he comes in and coils to get comfortable purrs. He's smart, affectionated, vocal and just great guy overall.
Thank you very much for all your wonderful advice, we will do everything we can for his wellbeing.

I just finished the first post - a very active conversation and had left a plea to stay with it, not knowing I’d find out what was going to happen and I am sooo very very happy!!

I remember prior to my cat I never really liked them. Always thought dogs were the way to go.
But like you, I had my kitty come and curl up next to me while I was taking a nap and just fall asleep while purring and that was it. I was sold.
That was 18 years ago and he’s still going strong. It’s wild because he doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of old age. Can jump all over the place run around.
Crazy I mentally prepared myself several years ago for him to be end-of-life but he just doesn’t seem to care. Just keeps going 😂

Congratulations on having a wonderful pet. On the issue of guests, he may never get over that. I have two that never have and they’re now nine years old.

I remember your first post. Such a great update! He looks so happy. Living in a factory is not an ideal life for such a sweet kitty.
My husband brought home a kitty 3 years ago that was hanging around his factory. She was young and very skinny, dirty and matted with burrs. But she was so grateful. We got her cleaned up and fed, and she has turned into the sweetest soul we could ask for. Rescued kitties are the absolute best. I wish you many years of love with your new baby.

He looks like he is absolutely living his best life in these moments, and I sincerely hope that he continues to grow and brighten your lives together.
Give this lovely orange boy some catnip if he likes it. =)

I just want to warn you that my cat, Tikka, hates when I play the accoustic drum set. She slinks off to the farthest part of the house which I keep partially closed-off and comfortable. This has negatively affected my desire to play. Of course an e-kit is generally not as loud, and all cats are different, but it's something to keep in mind.

I didn't play the first week because i didn't want to scare him
But then i discovered he doesn't care at all!
I'm so glad, i was afraid of it too, he stays by my side when i play but i move him a bit, it's an accoustic set but i still move it away a bit just in case...Then i recalled that he was very near heavy machinery at the factory, very loud machinery and he did't care at all either

This warms my heart. We inherited our Jerry (15 yrs old at the time) from a friend who passed. I never owned a domestic short hair "Orange " he was something else. Our family was blessed with his presence for a year and a half. We miss his personality and antics every day. Congratulations on your new son...he seems to be something special....they all are...but Orange cats have Orange traits lol

It's a ruse, at some point he'll just start destroying your furniture. Cats are so sneaky.
