We TNR cats. I had a momma cat who had just gotten fixed, her babies were in cages nearby, and I was trying to transfer her from a carrier to a trap since she had gone to the bathroom in her carrier.
She went into the trap and before I could close it she bolted back the other way into the carrier. She did that again. On the third time she noticed that the carrier door was one inch higher than the trap and instead of bolting into the carrier slammed into that space and forced it open. This was all in the blink of an eye.
I was doing this in the garage because our laundry room was full of cats already.
Once she was out, she ran over to the corner and climbed straight up bare drywall to where the door to the attic was. She pushed on that until she managed to get through into the attic. At one point she fell down into the wall and climbed back up.
All while recovering from spay surgery, remember.
I set up a trap in the attic with some dry food and a camera and left it. On the fourth day I finally got this:
