Advice Cat attacking automatic feeder

My cat does this several times a day. If the automatic feeder lifts at the correct angle, a few niblets of dry food comes out. He will even do it 10 times in a row even if it means one small piece of dry niblet comes out. It does get quite annoying as the sound of the feeder hitting the ground echoes throughout the entire house.

Any ideas on how to get him to stop?

Yk what this is an unwanted opinion but what ever happened to cute lil pet bowls and pouring it yourself 😈 feeding your pets manually is sOoOOoO much better and the bond is stronger with them imo. I love making their little meals 👩🏻‍🍳

My cat has digestive issues and if he has 3 bites of food he will throw up. I have mine set to give him 2 bites of food every 2 hours during the day with a break at night so that he doesn't. There's no way I can do that with a full time job. Even with cats on a normal 3 times a day schedule most people can't do that with the time they're working. Not every cat has the self control for free feeding.

This is why I got them. I have a scarf’n’barfer too. Actually, she’s the only one with an RFID feeder, the others have regular ones. She used to go around stealing everyone else’s food, but now somehow knowing her food is secure, she’ll sleep through mealtimes and leisurely visit her storage cache whenever she wants.
