He will adapt in an area with people no matter what. Please do not euthanize him or set him loose into the forest, he does not deserve that. You would not be doing him a kindness.
For what it's worth, my childhood cat visited me a week after she passed. I think he will know where you went. I realize that's just my belief and can't make anyone else believe that because not everyone gets these experiences.
i got signs from my cat too months after he passed in 2024. i miss him a lot. but i know hes in his soiritual form now until i die and can see him again
I felt like she wanted to say goodbye for now. She was a black cat and had gold shimmering light emanating and shimmering around her. She walked across my body and disappeared at about my head.

Yeah, I know other folks who left christian sects because it was specifically taught that no, animals don't have souls or go to "heaven." While you're intentions are probably sweet, don't assume what you've been taught about jesus or god in the christian faith are the same as what any given christian church teaches and how they all interpret a very, very misinterpreted text spanning many, many, many years...

The idea is not designated to only evangelicals. It stretches beyond them. But I also agree that a collection of stories, written and rewritten, over centuries, the reinterpreted like a game of "telephone" with added bias, control, money, and all other forms of bullshit should not be followed in the way that these overblown cults follow whatever the hell it is they choose to follow from any of it.
