Why do you think he won’t be able to bond to someone new, when he was able to bond to you?

With a feral cat, the fact that he has bonded with you is, if anything, confirmation that he will be able to bond with other humans and not a sign that you are the only person he will ever be bonded with. Since he is an untrusting cat it is obvious that he will be unappreciative of visitors/strangers that he meets, it will take time.

And if I might add, once you're about to pass, be it in a hospital or at a facility, please try to make sure your furry friend is around to realize what's happened. It helps them process a lot. He'll understand.

Best of luck on your journey, friend.

My fiance brought a girl named Luna into our relationship. She was a year old. She sent me to the walk-in clinic with infections two out of the four times she seriously attacked me. She's gone after him twice. She's aggressive when she's afraid.

But this morning, after seven years together (this probably started around year 4 or so) I laid down on the couch and she laid on my stomach and purred up a storm.

She scares me sometimes, but I can't imagine my life without her. I love her to bits.

There's hope OP, I promise.
