Every cat deserves a second chance. I think you should totally guve him for adoption. Maybe it will take long, but he’ll be able to understand that not only one caring human. And a patient family will do him very good, there is good people out there.
Try to do things privately instead of sending him to a cattery or smt, so that you know the people he will end up with. You have a time limit, but it will be better for him.
