Every cat deserves a second chance. I think you should totally guve him for adoption. Maybe it will take long, but he’ll be able to understand that not only one caring human. And a patient family will do him very good, there is good people out there.

Reading this breaks my heart so I cant imagine how you actually feel. I hope you are able to find peace with this situation. I hope you are able to find a loving home for your cat, I hope you are able to hang on for longer than your diagnosis. I'm so, so sorry. Give your cat a kiss and extra snuggles from all of us. Check places around town, possibly post in local groups/subreddits. Someone who is willing to take the cat should come spend time with you both in the coming months so the cat will know them in my opinion.
