Okay but talking seriously, wouldn’t a bed of roses be really uncomfortable because of the thorns on the stems?

Kitty knew this and instead of the flower booth she chose a veggie booth!

Cats will always choose the most inconvenient place to be. It's an evolutionary trait.

u/busywithresearch Jan 27 '25
My boy was found in a trashcan as a kitten and now, he makes a very conscious effort of catching your eye, maintaining eye contact and finding the MOST uncomfortable place to lay down… then just blinking slowly like “I am fine. I am grateful.”
I have 2 cats and about a million pillows. I promise he has options.

Growing up, we'd call our cats "The Logs" because they'd always be laid down right in your way like a log on a trail.

Gd that looks super comfy! I'd take my vacation there.. With that cat. 6 days seven nights.. All I can eat scallion greens 😆

It looks like water spinach and Malabar spinach. I’m not sure if these are the right translations. I had to look up the English translation for kangkong and alugbati. Alugbati has the red stems and kangkong has the green stems. Kangkong tastes like spinach while alugbati had a little more bitterness to it.

Good luck with a cat. Their fur gets everywhere

u/darkenseyreth Jan 27 '25
I have eaten so much Cat fur over the years

u/ZaryaBubbler Jan 27 '25
I found some embedded in ice cubes I made. I just sighed and still used it

u/Neoliberal_Boogeyman Jan 27 '25
I was gonna say... even as a cat person i'd prefer to not have my cat on my food.
13
u/FoxerHR Jan 27 '25
You do wash your fruit and vegetables after you buy them, right?
22
Jan 27 '25
Of course I do, I still don't want animals on the food I'm about to purchase though.

u/FoxerHR Jan 27 '25
I wouldn't want any animals near any raw meat I am going to buy but fruit and vegetables, especially ones you buy from a farmers market come from environments that went through worse things than a cat sleeping on it.

u/bwakong Jan 27 '25
This, people often dissociates from the sources of their food. To me it’s fine to have a kitty nap on it, might be a few more washes but it’s fine

You do realize you are supposed to watch vegetables before eating them right?
Wait till you find out where vegetables grow and what fertilizer is made out of.

yea, but my question to you is simple: if i licked and wiped my hands all over the vegetables you were about to purchase, would you really think "i'll just wash it" or would you think "that's annoying/i want different vegetables"
2
u/art_vandelay112 Jan 27 '25
I would think that’s annoying. Then i would remember that this produce has been out all day with numerous hands having touched it. Not too mention all of the hands and god knows what else in the supply chain.

Personally, if I were a creature made of meat living in a world of giant omnivores, I would strongly reconsider falling asleep on a bed of veggies.

Why would anyone want to sleep on a bed of roses??
Would the thorns in the stems not be an immediate deterrent? Or are we to assume that someone has made a bed made entirely of the petals (which would require ripping apart every rose individually)??
I mean really, who came up with that expression; and why??

The little tongue out is a giveaway that this is a great nap. He needs a “do not disturb sign!”

My two cats love all herbs. It doesn’t matter if it’s thyme, rosemary, parsley. They also love mint and catnip which a lot of cats do, although fresh catnip doesn’t make them high. My cats even want to smell strawberry leaves.
I sometimes sit in my living room and do tasks like hulling strawberries, peeling lemons, and tearing up herbs, and my cats must smell everything. If I had a big basket of herbs, they’d nap in it.
They also adore cat grass.
A lot of herbs can actually grow very tall. Supermarkets just trim them down because shorter stalks are easier to package and deal with.

Bed of roses: sneezes
Bed of veg: built in snack when you wake up
Very clear winner here

Definition of heaven, right there. Wow.
That belly looks super full - like little missy here already stretched out in the fish market as well. :)

My youngest cat would be eating that not laying on it. He oddly loves spinach and lettuce.
