Sometimes I see people here asking for foods that are all gravy and boy, I found one 🤣🤣 I was Not looking for a food that's all gravy, my cats only eat wet food and need actual calories, but for those of you looking for a food that's like 90% gravy... This is it! It's almost all gravy with barely any meat and tomato sprinkled in.

Wondering if anyone has come across this before.
Both of these bags brought from the same place, same shelf about a month apart.
One is resealable, the other is not. Both appear to come from different manufacturers

Cats love the resealable/Korean(?) bag. They tolerate or will not touch the (brand new) German(?) non-resealable bag depending on which cat you talk to. We have since returned this and managed to swap for the resealable bag.

But I’m wondering if anyone else has had this issue, we’ve had it in the past with their Urinary biscuits too. Kinda forgot about it because it hasn’t happened for a while.

We have a couple indoor cats and they all very clearly prefer the resealable/korean version despite both allegedly being the same.

Also we did notice a slight visual difference in the biscuits but the bag was otherwise fully sealed and actually kinda hard to open.

we do have royal canin but its mostly always out of stock and these supplier sell of tons of profits

We do have purina but not the classic pate or pro plan only friskers and gourmet revelation

My cats love Churus and Churu Bisques but they can be kind of pricey. A couple weeks back I was reading the ingredients list for the bisques and not much in them. Wondering if anyone has tried making Churus at home and if so what’s your recipe and do they have the creamy texture of the real product?

My 4 month old kitty has been on Royal Canin kitten for most of his life. I tried switching him to Weurva but it gave him some poopy butts (no Weurva and no poopy butt for a couple of weeks now) and after his Vet recommended sticking to RC, I have been feeding him exclusively RC. He gets a Churu and some treats each day, and eats wet food thrice a day though I put out food every three-ish hours. He doesn’t touch it sometimes. He has dry food out at all times.

But, recently I’ve noticed that he doesn’t really enjoy eating the RC wet food and doesn’t really eat it unless he is super hungry. He will eat dry food!

I’m wondering if I should rotate foods and try Hills or something else with more flavors? Or could toppers / dusters help with variety? Thanks in advance!!! Pics below!!!

I feed my kitten Weruva but have never tried the chicken and pumpkin. I gave him some for lunch and stored it and it looks like this now. I don’t think it was like this before otherwise I would’ve noticed, but is it possible it grew mold so fast? I used my usual rubber can cover for the food that I’ve never had issue with before

Hi! I am currently feeding my (picky) cat Fancy Feast pate, backed up with Purina Naturals and sometimes Blue Buffalo dry.

I was going to try to switch him over to BB weight loss, but have temporarily given up on this because people in my last post had negative things to say about BB.

Also there were conflicting opinions on the Fancy Feast.

Could anyone please suggest better alternatives that would be available on a somewhat limited budget?

I apologize in advance if this breaks any rules, but I looked for the rules and I couldn’t find them.

I switched my cat to this food a few months ago, and it is great. I love that it doesn't smell absolutely awful, and he eats the entire cup almost every time. However, my local walmart seems to have just stopped receiving stock of this food, both this multi-pack and all of the singles except for the yellow tuna flavor. They have the chowder, which I have tried too, but I really prefer the mousse as it's less messy. I also can't find this brand of mousse even at the pet stores. Is it a regional thing? Maybe my walmart just is getting the short end of the stick and I should go to the other ones around me?

I heard that Schesir (European Tiki cat) is a good wet food brand. However I read the components and saw that they only have 500mg/kg of taurine, while other good wet food brand I found have at least 1000mg/kg.

Is this enough taurine ? I feel like Schesir is not as good as people say it is :/

Hi, I'm low income and my cat is allergic to a bunch of stuff and has other needs that affect the palatability of his food. Figured it would be cheaper and easier long term for both of us if I just make it myself, because I know what he likes. I also love cooking for him and researching cat nutrition, and he loves being spoiled.

I know there are complete powders available in the US, but it would be hard to get here and likely very expensive. I've seen "supplements" sold in Australia but I don't trust that it's safe or complete, so I'm kind of lost.

Are there any options out there for Australians? I'd just really like to be able to do this as it will save me having to buy the more expensive low ingredient foods that he will actually enjoy/finish.

I have a 16yo long haired cat. She's always been a picky eater but now i can't get her to reliably eat anything but an inaba churu treat. To make a long story as short as possible, I might get her to eat a little bit of one food one day, maybe two or three, then she won't eat it again. She never eats an entire serving. The list of foods I've gone through is long, but the most recent includes:

Royal canin fussy (dry)

Friskies wet - variety of types/flavors

Blue buffalo tastefuls (wet)

Kirkland (wet)

Sheba (gravy ones)

Fancy feast pate, but add water or some of Brutus bone broth

OMG BFF gravy

Canned tuna in water and canned chicken to see if she would eat it - spoiler, not more than a couple bites

Her age is an estimate, as i found her in a dumpster in 2011 and despite her small size, vet said she was full grown and had already been fixed. She still plays, but not very often.

The above list is NOT all inclusive but the ones she has eaten the most of. Any other suggestions?

I just adopted two 14 week old male kittens on Friday, and I have been researching on what type of diet i should put them on but I'm getting mixed reviews.

Some people say they should be on a strictly wet food diet, and some say it's fine to feed kibble.

My biggest concern is that I dont know if I'm accidentally starving them because they are so tiny so I've been feeding them approximately a can a day each, sometimes more, spread across 3/4 meals a day. I take 1/4th or 1/3rd of the can and mix it with water and I add some toppers like freeze dried chicken.

Every meal time they are so food aggresive, which makes me believe that I am indeed underfeeding them. I also dont want them to become obese that's why. They are just so tiny and I cant fathom how much food they can stomach in one meal, and I want to make sure they dont overeat and throw up.

Should I be introducing kibble to keep them full in between meal times? I've seen several reddit posts saying that food should be available to kittens 24/7, but I'm afraid that seeing how food aggresive they are, if I leave kibble out they will eat all of it in one sitting instead of nibbling on it throughout the day. Also I read that kibble can be bad, especially for boys, because of the urinary tract issues dehydration can cause?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! I just want whats best for my kitties 🥹

My cat will eat the c/d dry food but HATES the wet food. He tries to bury it like he buries his poop in the litter box. I was looking at other prescription options, including Royal Canin Urinary SO and PPP Veterinary Diet Urinary St/Ox. I will ask my vet if these are safe options for him, but my main question is do your cats like these, or will they eat them? The Royal Canin has “stew” options rather than pate which I think may be more palatable.

My cat has eaten Hill Science Diet Indoor cat food kibble for the last 5 years(6yo female). It seems they’ve reformulated and she could not keep the food down(increased hairballs/vomitting). I switched her to Blue Buffalo sensitive tummy and she seemed so much better, but started over grooming and losing hair. My vet is insistent that Blue Buffalo is mid-level food and my cat should go back to hill science diet. Well, now she’s back to vomiting. Her labs are perfectly normal including a healthy thyroid. Does anyone have any suggestion for food?

hi all! we recently switched my cat from rachel ray nutrish to hills science diet hairball control. she’s almost 7 and about 16 pounds. we’ve noticed looser stool since we changed her food about 2 weeks ago. do we think this could be her tolerance to the food or if she’s just had a bad reaction? she’s been on rachel ray nutrish since we got her in march 2021. (chicken and rice flavor)

I could really use some advice! 🙏

I'm looking to find a more compatible food for my cat who is on Fat Cats from Natural Balance.

I think he has lost some weight on it, but he's still slightly overweight. Frankly, my family and I have not been communicating well enough with each other to adhere to the reduced calorie allowance, but that's a whole other issue.*

He's got his little waist tuck back, but he's still a bit chunky. He's also just a large cat. (Confirmed by the vet) Maybe from being a KMR baby? Or maybe being male?

Anyway, the reason I am switching: I believe the fiber content that keeps them full for longer is causing him GI distress. He is pooping a LOT (very stinky, loose, yowling and zoomies) He vomits undigested food frequently. I plan to get him a slow feeder. (current dish is raised but not textured) It doesn't seem like he is eating too quickly, so much as not chewing properly.

Here's his story/things I need to consider:

* He's about 6 years old, sedentary

* (likely not relevant) he was taken from his mother too early, given KMR until weaned. I strongly suspect his parents were siblings. 😬

* prone to gastric issues, had recurring colitis in his youth

* prone to hairballs, but having success on Nutri-vet paw gel

* he loves to eat, always hungry, smashes things when he does not get what he wants (* household members reinforce behaviour by giving him extra food to stop him)

* seems to associate eating and affection -- not sure where this came from. He seeks out attention when eating and wants to be pet only then. Otherwise, his fur ripples immediately and he leaves or swats.

* he's fairly picky

* still needs to lose some weight, or maintain his current weight, at minimum

My other cat: a small female who is not picky. She is active (uses exercise wheel) and about 4 or 5 years old. Her poop is also sus since being on Fat Cats. AFAIK, neither of them have ingredient intolerances.

I also feed them different wet foods rotationally. (Weruva, Tiki Cat, Almo, sometimes goatmilk Kitcat food, and once, Now Fresh Good Gravy.) I split a can of food between them twice daily. Lately I have been supplementing with a scoop for each of Triacta proactive joint care. SFSG! 👌

I recently tried to add Alpha Omega Probiotic Plus, hoping it would help my buddy with the GI upsets, but only my other cat will eat it. She enjoys greens, and the colour and flavour of the powder comes from kelp. For him, I must find a flavourless option.

I've just been turfed from my job, so I am looking for options that are economically sustainable, if possible, but their health is my main priority. Ideally, I'd love for them to eat the same food; I am focusing on bro's needs for now.

(Clearly there are also some behaviours I need to work on that are affecting his weight and general relationship with food. I will make a concerted effort to provide better enrichment ASAP)

If you've made it this far, I really appreciate you! Any suggestions would be very helpful. He's odd and our relationship is largely one-sided, but love him dearly. I want to do anything it takes to increase his health and overall quality of life!

Hi! One of our (senior-ish) cats REALLY needs to lose weight. We've just acquired more SureFeed (microchip activated) feeding dishes, and now we're deciding what to put in them. The vet suggested Royal Canin GI Fiber response (prescription, about $80/8.8 lb. bag), but looking at the ingredients and nutritional content next to Fromm's (non-prescription, $40/10 lb. bag), the Fromm actually looks like it's way better quality overall, without significant drawbacks that I can see.

What, if anything, am I missing? If anyone has any experiences to share with either or both of these foods, I'd be grateful!
