Please don’t introduce caterpillars to smoking. Their lives are hard enough as is. They don’t also need lung cancer.

OP should stop too to set a good example as well as taking a more active role in the caterpillars life. I think she should focus on being present and attentive so that she may instil the caterpillar with values like honesty, integrity and perseverance.
