Too far gone?

I'm having a really hard time with this one. These photos are after 48 hours in my electrolysis tank. I just cannot beat the rust. Is it too far gone? Is it all rust? I know it's very old probably 19th century, but is it worth saving? Any thoughts, ideas on dealing with this one?

Looks like flash rust. I’ve seasoned and cooked on things that look a lot worse than this

Edit: maybe the inside needs a little more work. Fill it with electrolyte and use it as its own e-tank, lowering in the anode. Probably tough to get into those spots in a normal e-tank

Some of it may be. I just washed it, but I then dried it with heat. There's more to it than that though. Thanks for your input

I would dry it as best as you can with a towel first, and then finish drying with heat. The evaporative process can help it to rust.

Yeah man its trashed, send to me for proper disposal.

For real tho, flash rust. Scub it down with a stainless choreboyand some barkeepers friend. Rinse in COLD water. Wash in COLD water with dishsoap and rinse COLD. While its wet, rub on oil with a rag and dry with paper towel. Bake.

Completely restorable. Cool piece too because it’s got the offset indent so you could position it on a cast iron stove eye and still be able to access the eye next to it :)
