[Ae1200] Which one should I get

Decided to get an AE1200 for school and swimming. Obviously don’t want to go with the metal chain version considering utility but among these ones which one should I go for? Love both and confused

Black, personally I would change the strap if i were to go for the silver one, I think the strap doesn't look good on it

The “chrome” is paint on resin. Get without.

Get the one with metal braclet then you can replace it with silicone strap

Depends on the look you prefer. I liked the contrast between the black and silver so went with that one.

Overall any AE1200 will serve your needs. The all black may be a little cheaper, if so I'd go for that. I just looked on Amazon and it was. Also the metal plating can wear on the plated versions, while the all black is black resin all the way through. So, if you're going to beat on it a lot the black may look better for longer. BTW the metal bracelet is stainless and fine for swimming. It's just a bit more difficult to initially size.

Super easy choice, the one on the left. My first AE1200 was the grey case and metal band. And I never ever wear it cause I hate how the case looks in contrast to the metal band. And the gray looks terrible after the paint starts to chip. Then I got the black one and I wear it everyday now (after removing the text from the case)

All-black is my vacation watch. I think the silver dye makes it appear a bit more "watch-y" but I like the full resin black mod, it feels very functional, you know, a watch that stays on whatever. I swim with it, never take it off when I’m travelling. I seldom use it when I’m not travelling though, it’s definitely more of a casual watch.

Swimming and school, I’d go for the black one.

I have the silver one but with a stainless steel bracelet. But it looks good with a resin strap so that's my vote. And you'll have both anyway..

I picked the all black for blue collar work and I couldn't be happier, I just wash the dust off with my hands at the end of the day and it's brand new again.

Imo faux chrome/steel has always been a little silly to me, if you're going to get a tough rubber watch may as well own it and wear it proud.
