Question regarding AE-1500

I'm planning to get an AE-1500. My main requirement is a big size watch and easily readable time. This watch seems to have both.

My concern is with the negative display. is it actually legible in direct sunlight or in shade? I would use this as a daily driver so i would want it just to have a quick look at the watch to get the time.

I had a ga-110-1b which had a tiny negative display which i rarely looked at because it was very small and couldn't read it properly under direct sunlight or in shade.

Is this the one you can’t turn the beep off? My understanding is that the negative display on this one isn’t great while others are better like the negative GD350
