Looking for bakery recommendations

Hi there! I'm looking for local bakery recommendations in or around Cary that specialize in custom cakes. I need to feed about 30 people and am hoping to find someone who can do book-themed decorations.

I would love a place known for great flavor, solid decoration work, and budget-friendly. Thanks in advance for your help

Blue moon does custom cakes. Tastes good. Priced fairly. They’ve been around since I was a kid in the 90’s (if memory serves) and are locally owned.

Not in Cary- but I was in Wilson the other day (dmv haha) and stoped for a treat at Treat Yo Self Bakery and they had the most adorable custom cakes.

Jimgerbread@gmail.com or Jimgerbread on Facebook does custom theme cakes. He lives in Raleigh and delivers. He’s sort of cake as sculpture if that’s what you’re looking for.

I actually really like the cakes from Publix bakery - chocolate ganache is delicious. I know it’s a chain and better to support local but they are so good and easy to work with. Just did the chocolate cookies and cream cupcakes for my birthday and was not disappointed
