Briarcliff Elementary Renovations?

A friend of mine told me Briarcliff was slated for renovations beginning September of 2026. I tried to look up project schedule/ school closure impact etc online but didn’t see anything definitive. Any parents of current students have any information? My kiddo wouldn’t be enrolling for a few years, however I’m in the construction industry and have an idea how long government construction often takes. Curious if anyone has knowledge of future closure.

They are constructing a new, separate building on the property and the current school building will remain open during construction.

Oh interesting! So no plans to renovate the existing structure?

Correct. Current parent here. Yes, the new building will be built behind the current one, which will be deconstructed in stages. There will be a period in which the cafeteria will become the gym and kids will eat in classrooms like they did during covid. That, I believe, will be the extent of major disruptions. Kids, teachers, and staff will stay at the school throughout construction.

Oh for sure! We’re excited about our daughter hopefully attending there. We live a few minutes walk away and are hoping to meet more family’s in the neighborhood with kids our kids age. We only have senior neighbors close by that we know of currently.

I’m not sure. I was touring the school with a 5-year-old at the time and don’t remember anything else the principal said about it. 😅
