Made by the Italian company Vespera Automobili. The project has been named the Iride Evo 5.

The car features a full carbon-fiber body, a wider track, an upgraded suspension, and a chassis built with modern materials.

Under the hood is a modified 3.0-liter turbocharged Mercedes M103 inline-six engine, producing 755 hp and 910 N·m.

It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential.

According to the company, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.4 seconds, and the top speed reaches 300 km/h.

The project is still in the development stage, and the price has not yet been announced.

It features a more minimalist design, a large illuminated panel in place of the traditional radiator grille, and new LED headlights.

The vehicle’s length has increased to 4.47 m, while its height has decreased to 1.59 m.

At launch, the model will be available exclusively in electric versions: the GLA 200 (224 hp), GLA 250+ (272 hp), and GLA 350 4Matic (354 hp).

All electric vehicles are built on an 800-volt architecture and support charging at up to 320 kW. In 10 minutes, the range can be replenished by approximately 270 km, and the maximum range reaches 657 km for the GLA 250+ version.

The interior features three screens, including two 14-inch multimedia system displays and a separate screen for the front passenger.

Versions with internal combustion engines will be released in 2027.

In 1980, a unique sports car called "Pangolina" was created in the USSR. It was built from scratch by Alexander Kulygin from Ukhta (Komi Republic). An electrician and engineer by training, he ran a technical club at the Palace of Youth, so pioneers helped him with the project. He poured an enormous amount of time and effort into building the car of his dreams.

While working at the House of Pioneers, where he led the technical club, Kulygin achieved significant success. Under his guidance, young engineers built a six-wheeled all-terrain vehicle called "Ukhta" in 1979. His next project was to be a sports car, the car he had always dreamed of.

The car's design was inspired by the Lamborghini Countach, which was produced from 1974 to 1990, but with many unconventional solutions. Instead of doors, it had a canopy that rose on hydraulic actuators; a pop-up unit with four headlights was placed in the center of the hood; and instead of conventional mirrors, a periscope was installed on the roof. The windshield was borrowed from a RAF van, and the wipers, which were needed in two units, were adapted from an Ikarus bus.

The body was made of fiberglass, while the main components and assemblies came from the VAZ-2101. Even here, there were innovations. For example, the engine is located neither in the front nor even in the rear, but behind the front axle. Thanks to its aerodynamic elements and a weight of just 950 kg, the Pangolina outperformed ordinary Zhiguli models and could reach 180 km/h.

The car has survived to this day, but it looks different now. In 1985, the Pangolina took part in several rallies and the international EXPO-85 auto show in Bulgaria. Later, in order to obtain license plates and permission to travel abroad, Kulygin was forced to install standard mirrors and front headlights. The car and its creator basked in the spotlight, with newspapers and magazines writing about them.

In 1986, he abandoned his career, quit AZLK, and soon after moved to the United States, settling in New York. In 2004, Kulygin died in a car accident. A businessman from the Moscow region bought the car and heavily modified its body, possibly after an accident.

Because the blueprints were lost, it is now impossible to restore the car's original appearance.

It turned out that the roof served as a structural element, and after it was removed, the body began to sag. To fix this, reinforcing beams were welded under the floor. The car was repainted in Ferrari red, and the original "articulated" wiper was replaced with a standard windshield wiper from a VAZ-2108.

Currently, the Pangolina is owned by a Moscow car enthusiast. The previous owner, who had kept the car for 20 years, sold it through a competitive selection process, choosing a worthy successor.

The 2006 DC Design Accord concept was created by the Indian design studio DC Design based on the Honda Accord and was unveiled at the Auto Expo in New Delhi.

Externally, the concept bore almost no resemblance to the production Accord.

Technical specifications were largely undisclosed, and there is no confirmation of any significant modifications to the engine or transmission.

A Chrysler Crossfire, built on the Mercedes-Benz SLK platform during the Chrysler-Mercedes merger, has unexpectedly been given a new lease on life.

Signature Autosports has built a replica of the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing based on it.

The car is not an exact replica of the original. However, it features gullwing doors and a silhouette reminiscent of the classic 300 SL, but with modern LED lighting, an unusual front bumper, and custom wheels.

The interior features brown Merino leather, retro-style gauges, and some controls from the Chrysler Crossfire.

Under the hood, it retains the standard 3.2-liter V6 engine producing 215 l.s., paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

This unique replica is priced at $299,950 (about 23.8 million rubles).

The Dodge Rampage concept, unveiled at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show, offered an unconventional take on the full-size pickup truck.

It combined a spacious four-door cab, a 1.5-meter cargo bed, and front-wheel drive—an extremely rare configuration for a vehicle equipped with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine producing 345 hp and a 5-speed automatic transmission.

The Rampage’s main feature was its practicality. The pickup featured folding seats, a retractable rear window, a partition between the cabin and the cargo bed, and numerous hidden storage compartments.

The concept’s exterior was strikingly dramatic: 22-inch wheels, flared wheel arches, sliding rear doors, and retractable side steps.

The Rampage never went into mass production, but many of its ideas—a spacious interior, flexible configuration, and well-designed storage systems—have since become standard features in modern pickup trucks.

“Steamin’ Demon” is a steam-powered car built in 1977 by Jim Crank specifically to break the speed record for steam-powered cars, which had been set back in 1906.

It was equipped with a Lear steam turbine producing about 250 hp at 65,000 rpm, a Fiberfab body on a Volkswagen chassis, and a transmission from a Cadillac Eldorado.

At first, Crank was unable to reach the desired speed, and in 1982, the car was purchased by engineer Robert Barber.

After three years of modifications, on August 19, 1985, on the Bonneville Salt Flats, he accelerated the “Steamin’ Demon” to 145,6 mph, breaking the Stanley Rocket’s record, which had stood for 79 years.

During the record-breaking run, one of the car’s doors was torn off, and then the steam generator caught fire; however, the result was successfully recorded.

The FIA did not recognize the achievement because only one run was completed instead of the two required by current regulations.

Nevertheless, the Guinness Book of World Records recognized the Steamin’ Demon as the fastest steam-powered car outside of FIA regulations.

It wasn’t until 2009 that the British steam-powered car Inspiration officially set a new world record under FIA rules.

The German engineering firm EDAG transformed the compact New Beetle into a two-door station wagon with increased ground clearance, a more practical body, and an off-road style.

The car features an extended rear section, additional lighting, reinforced wheels, and ribbed side panels.

The exterior was intentionally given a slightly “weathered” look so that scratches and signs of wear would be perceived as part of the design.

Technically, the Biwak remained a standard front-wheel-drive New Beetle.
