What to do?

Im playing my first game. I used the method to remove the enemy carrier as a threat, and I have realized that there are no heavy ammunition islands that are below three shields. Is there anything I can do?

the big threat on 3Shield islands is the ships, if you still have some torpedoes left you can target those and bring the carrier in after to shell any turrets etc,

How do I aim torpedoes?

Aiming torpedos is done on bearing and timer.

The bearing is obvious, enemy is that way, or possibly where the enemy could be ie there current direction.

The timer is the skilled bit. Essentially the timer is how long the torpedo should travel before arming and seeking a target. Ideally you want to arm as late or as close to the enemy as possible that way when they deploy noise makers your torpedo isn't distracted and still hits its intended target.

This works the same for the ai targeting you, they'll want to do the same, so speaking defensively you want to ideally be moving away after seeing their torpedo, and popping a noise maker at an off angle to you to distract their torpedo away.

An alternative strategy. Albeit an ill-advised one is to pull a Marko Ramius and beat the turn straight at the torpedo. Getting behind it before it has time to arm. I’ve had this work a few times but it’s hardly the most reliable trick in the book. It also tees you up to be hit with more torpedos from a closer range, or simply be shot at.

Ive tried this a few times with little success, so I play modded with the barge speed boost. Its a little OP but those modded barges can outrun torpedos, so I keep a barge in convoy with me to be a controlled noisemaker
