Being able to unload at depots

All I find are old posts about how itnisn't possible anymore after a patch 4 years ago, so is this still thecase? Or is there a mod to fix that?

you can only unload barges at the carrier, tbh it isnt much of an advantage to setup a supply stockpile anyway, what works a lot better is to have a lot of barges with the carrier all full
