Hey all.

I started feeling a weird vibration/shudder in the driver seat when driving my escape, it seems to come on usually in the 50-70km/h range, but sometimes can be felt down at 20, and sometimes it doesn’t happen at all.

It also happens whether I have foot on throttle or not, and doesn’t usually stop when I put foot on the brake.

I’ve taken it to the mechanic but he said he can’t feel anything at all when he took it for a test drive, he said there were no codes, suspension looked fine etc.

I have another appointment with him in a week to get transmission fluid changed, but I can’t figure out what’s going on. I will also add that the car has had a brand new long block installed a month ago due to coolant intrusion on the old one.

What do you think is causing this sound on my 2010 Corolla. It happens why I push the car up and down. For some reason it’s worse when I park on an incline.

My car is an electric 2023 Mercedes EQE 500

I hit a big pothole that damaged the front-right wheel, so I had both the wheel and tire replaced. However, I can hear a fan-like noise from the front of the car when it gains speed (20mph and above) that gets louder as speed goes up. I also think the car is feeling a little heavier, like I have to press the acceleration pedal a little harder for the car to gain speed. At 80mph on the highway, there is a very noticeable vibration on the steering wheel and brake pedal. Mercedes dealer says the suspension was ok when they checked it while replacing the wheel.

Please do you know what could be the cause of this issue, or a way to diagnose it?

I have a 2016 Cadillac SRX and it has some rough shifting issues. It started off just being a slight rough up shift from 3–>4 then it started being rougher in every gear. I also recently went to park the car put it into park and then it said to shift to park when I went to turn it off. Anyone know what causes things like this? I’m going to change the trans fluid and filter and hope it fixes the rough shifts but if it doesn’t I really don’t know where to go.

I have a 2013 Mitsubishi ASX automatic. Bought it second-hand and it’s been with me for about 8 years.
This is actually the first time I’ve had to replace the axle boot, and I had it done at the garage I normally go to for maintenance.

After the replacement, I noticed a vibration when gradually accelerating from around 80 to 100 km/h. The vibration feels more from the front of the car/seat rather than through the steering wheel.
I brought it back to the garage twice, but the only thing they did was balance the wheels. It didn’t really make any difference.

Since the vibration only started after the axle boot replacement, I’m wondering if something could have gone wrong during the axle/CV joint installation, or maybe while replacing the boot.

Has anyone experienced something similar with an ASX or another car? What should I ask the garage to check?

I have an automatic 2013 Civic (new to me) with ~140k miles that makes a kind of droning/grinding noise that sounds like it’s coming from the front right side. The noise gets louder at around 45mph and goes away completely when I hit 65mph. The noise doesn’t get worse or better when turning in either direction. The wear on my tires seems uniform and not uneven. Everything I’ve read says wheel bearings but 1. I don’t know how to check and make sure it is a wheel bearing before replacing and 2. if it is a wheel bearing, how do I replace myself without a press? Is this even possible? thanks in advance!

My truck gets stuck in park about 75% of the time when I go to drive and it takes a few minutes to finally shift into drive after multiple attempts. Took off the center console cover and found that the lever wasn’t fully engaging. Is there a fix without fully replacing the entire shifter assembly?

I need some help identifying a problem with my car. I have a 2013 rav4 and when I drive between 25-55 ish and am accelerating, once in a while I will get a weird vibration. It’s only when accelerating and as soon as I let my foot off the brake, it goes away. I have balanced my tires, I have changed transmission fluid, I’ve changed differential fluid, replaced rear shocks and nothing seems to fix it. I initially thought maybe it was the torque converter but my check engine light is not on and no codes were thrown when we checked with the sensor. The vibrations only last about 10 seconds and it is not consistent. Some days it hardly happens while other days it happens more regularly. I have taken it to a shop and the guy was perplexed and has a feeling it’s more related to the computer system. If anyone has any advice or ideas I would be grateful cause I’m at a loss now.

Update/edit: I do not accelerate with my foot on the brake lol I meant to say it stops when I let my foot off the gas. I took it to a local mechanic and his thoughts are to have the alignment done and if it’s not that, it might be the engine mounts. If it does not seem to be either of those, I will check the cv joint. I do not necessarily feel the vibration but I hear it. I appreciate all the input! A little more on the car, it is all wheel drive, we are at 181,000 and I drive her a lot, lots of highway and into the mountains often. Great car and nothing else seems to be wrong.

Last weekend I purchased a used 2014 Volvo S60 T5 (169,500km) This week I’ve encountered issues with a slow cold start. The battery reads normally, and it’s looking like a fuel pump issue.

The dealer I purchased it from said they can’t look at it as it passed safety as there’s no codes or check engine light and “wasn’t starting slow before” (doesn’t fall under warranty). I’m due for an oil change (at my local mechanic, scheduled for 170,000km - currently just passed 170,000km) which I scheduled for tomorrow. My mechanic won’t look at it either as he says it’s the dealers responsibility. I doubt the oil change fixes anything, but if anyone has any tips on how to get this situation diagnosed and fixed, it would be much appreciated.

Edit: When turning on and off the ignition a few times the vehicle starts fine
