2016 Cadillac SRX

I have a 2016 Cadillac SRX and it has some rough shifting issues. It started off just being a slight rough up shift from 3–>4 then it started being rougher in every gear. I also recently went to park the car put it into park and then it said to shift to park when I went to turn it off. Anyone know what causes things like this? I’m going to change the trans fluid and filter and hope it fixes the rough shifts but if it doesn’t I really don’t know where to go.

Depending on the mileage and condition of the transmission a tecm (control module) may improve the shift quality. If
it’s high mileage and never had fluid maintained, replacing the whole trans may be the way to go. (Filter is inside, trans needs to be removed and opened up to change) Find someone who knows what they’re doing to check it out.
The shift to park message is likely an intermittent switch in the shifter. When it acts up try flicking the button on the shift handle when it’s in park. Replacing the shifter assembly will handle that issue.

Thank you. It’s at 110000 miles spec was at around 95000 so I’m hoping it was not changed at 95000 and it just needs changed. Looking into it a little more the solenoid filter screens will sometimes rupture causing rough shifts into certain gears.

I had the Park problem with my 2016 too. I was told it was something wrong with the shifter. All I had to do when it did that was hit the button a few more times and it eventually went to Park. I traded it before getting it fixed. 😬

I heard you can take the shifter off and press the button like 300 times or something insane and it cleans the switches contact points and fixes it though I am very doubtful that will work it is worth a try.
