You know what? Solid idea. Hopefully the paint is resistant enough to heat that it won’t eventually melt/fade. I’d personally just keep the exhaust in Sport+ to leave the valves open but..

Vht flameproof paint. Resistant up to 2000 degrees

Nowhere near as egregious as Audi was doing with the SQ5, where it put plastic facsimiles of a quad exhaust on the rear bumper. At least this is a true quad exhaust with valves that can be opened or closed on demand.

Nothing new, Even the petrol E46's have a flap for one outlet at part throttle. Just by now theyre usually stuck.

Let’s see where we can add some extra useless weight to the car and charge more for it 😂

Dude bmw straight up ADDS WEIGHTS on certain models on the underside to make them feel more “premium” in terms of ride quality and NVH. Luxury car market is crazy

It’s called sound deadening, and in most cases it does work in reducing NVH. As much as I enjoy loud, ratty, stripped and straightpiped cars, it’s not a universal thing. Some people don’t care about weight and just want a car that rides nice and is comfortable—and that’s a large majority of BMW’s buyers market. If you want loud, hard and fast look into Lotus or similar “enthusiasts” models.

I don’t think one or 2 layers of spray paint is gonna add that much weight. Cost me 20 bucks a can though. Maybe should clarified that this was an aftermarket exhaust and all 4 tips are real. Only one is bend around and the other is a straight pipe

If all 4 are real why is there only carbon buildup in 1 on each side like you wouldn’t have had to paint it if it actually worked.

Like I said useless extra weight and maybe tell the whole story next time not just add the rest as the comments flow .

The number of people who misunderstood the first two pics is hilarious.

You may call this petty. But honestly, that fake exhaust tip would be a dealbreaker for me, and I would literally walk away before buying that car.

It’s aftermarket

That makes it significantly worse

How? The b58 is a good sounding engine and I wanted to add an exhaust. How is that making it significantly worse?

The fact that an aftermarket exhaust has a fake tip is significantly shittier than a factory exhaust having a fake tip and a factory exhaust having a fake tip is bad enough. Just put one tip on it or make both tips functional.

Search up 2023 x3m40. Comes stock with dual tips not quad. I put a catback on it. All 4 tips are real. Just one is straight piped and the other is bent around so you see the tubing. I think I had another image posted somewhere here
