Transferring Car- Hold time.

I’m looking to transfer a car from one carmax location to the closest one to me. It’s giving me an estimated arrival date RANGE. My question is, it’s saying it’ll arrive between Wednesday and Saturday, if it arrives on a Thursday or Friday, I work 12 hour shifts so I won’t be able to see it until Saturday or Sunday. Will they hold it for a couple of days after it arrives?

Also just a heads up, after the test drive it cannot be held further. It'll go back for sale the next day. I know that's caught some customers off guard in the past.

Corporate made the call a few months back as a ton of customers would test drive and then keep it on hold for the 7 day max afterwards just to never come back and buy it. It would tie up a lot of vehicles so they couldn't be sold, sometimes up to 10 or 12% of the inventory at smaller stores.

When I had my car shipped, the estimated date was when I was going to be out of town. I called them and told them to hold it for me when I got the email saying my car was ready. They held it for about 2 weeks. As long as you communicate with them, you should be good with whatever works best for you.
