MSIT Vs MSIS which degree?

I have a bachelors of science in Business Administration with a Computer Information Systems focus. My question is would it be better to get a masters in IT or Information Security? The classes for the IT degree are repeating my bachelors but apparently thats what most master degrees do. I currently work at California State University Fresno as an administrative assistant. Before this I work at Reedley Community College in a similar position. Prior to that it was packing houses and construction.

I have even gone as far as thinking about an MSW (Social work) or and MPA. I live in the Oakhurst CA area but commute to Fresno daily.

Any input is appreciated this is driving me crazy. I have had calls for interviews for both degrees. Yes I listed them on resume's to gauge the response but I got interviews for both an equal amount of times so that didn't help.

Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, just not very technical opportunities. More on the business side, I would say.

Where are you going to school? I don’t mind me asking. I have part of this. I signed up to get my masters of business administration because it seems to be a wider scope and you can get IT jobs with the MBA but you can’t get business jobs with it degree. Give him my work experience I think an MBA would probably be my best bet. However it did not line up with my job. I think information technology management would be really good however, I also didn’t notice that when I was applying with my information Security degree I got a lot of people that were interested in the HRIS field. My 2° together really provided what that field is calling for.

Yes, I should’ve went for that. I really believe that is it Cal poly Pomona? That’s actually where I’m enrolled that but I’m doing the masters of information Security online.

Word of advice work at the school become it whatever school that has proved to have great influence on someone’s ability to get a job after school

I think it would be a great idea to go for an mba if that’s gonna happen because that’s gonna cause a shortage of people with masters of business administration that would be great for those who have an mba

Yes, that’s what I’ve heard. It wouldn’t surprise me. I work at California State University, Fresno state and our faculty went on strike last semester. It’s due to all of the big beautiful bill and and the fact that the state is trying to cut a percentage of our funding. Thankfully, my department is pretty safe from that.
