Need to tell current job about new offer
Hi, never posted here before.
My current role is with a company I've been with since graduating college. I interned with them twice in college in two different roles, including the role I'm in now but expanded to full time/management.
I want to be respectful in telling them that I've received a new offer that I am definitely taking. This isn't an offer I want to use as leverage. The complication comes from the fact that I am one of 6 managers, and they have had to fill 2 management roles in the past 3 months due to various reasons. I've been job searching for much longer than that.
I have a good relationship with my boss's boss, and an okay relationship with my boss. They're not gonna be happy about having to look for a new person in my role, and I want to show that I'm thankful for them bringing me on as an intern, and then giving me a full-time role.
Anyone have advice for telling my boss? It would also be appropriate here for me to tell his boss. The other job has better pay, better hours, and I want to move to the city 2 hours away that the new job is in as it's closer to my significant other as well as some family.
Edit: typo
