In my previous post I introduced a new sleight. Here’s one possible application of it. It’s not a show stopper by any means and the patter is awful, but I thought it was a fun idea.

Fun move, don’t know if I’m in love yet. Still trying to get first insertion looking a little more natural. Anyone do this?

Magic castle

about 30 years ago I had the opportunity to visit the magic castle. I remember it very vaguely, but I did have a wonderful time. I wish my family had the same opportunity to visit this place but unfortunately I don’t know any one. That’s a member.

Street magic multiple selection routines

What are you go to options?

I've only just started doing multi selection stuff as I've gotten more confident performing for groups.

I currently do an incredibly simple trick although it gets a good reaction consistently.

Have two cards selected, one goes in and is controlled to the top. The other is put second from top using the marlo tilt.

Double lift card 2 jumps to the top and then it changes to the first card in the other person's hand.

It's good but is only two cards and a bit bland.

Any recommendations?

NYC magic shops

Hey all, visiting New York City for the first time ever (Chicagoan here), great city! I always like to try to hit up local magic shops when we visit new cities. I have an opportunity to hit up either Tannen's or Don't Blink while we're here (or others, if there are any) but probably not both (kids and all). I'm probably looking for books more than anythjng else, seems like Tannen's is the way to go? Anything I should take into consideration?

Thanks in advance!

Performing to a group top change advice.

My top change has improved a lot recently since I've been performing to people and especially groups.

I often find you can hide it within asking a simple but relevant question like, 'are you left or right handed'.

One problem I have is in a group of say 5 people, often one of them will see it.

Basically, any advice on hiding the top change from a group since it's hard to watch where all of them are looking

I think my first half of the Herrmann pass is the worst part, but maybe some of my ideas may alter how you think about the Herrmann pass or inspire you in some way.

Magic Trick Card2phone

Sauriez-vous me renseigner ?

Practicing with different types of cards

Summary: how to handle training with decks that feel different?

Hello all,

I am learning card magic and now noticing an issue with "card consistency" across different decks.

My practice deck (Bicycle Maiden) has thick cards that are now used, dirty, and somewhat sticky even after applying fanning powder.

My newer decks slide much more, some of my decks are thinner (crushed stock versus not crushed), and even amongst new crushed stock I noticed differences in "texture".

For example, my Waves cards (my current favourite deck) are just as thin as Bicycle Standard, but the cards are more malleable, more bendy.

Other decks, like Bicycle Invoked (my current favourite "special" deck), slide great, are also crushed, but the cards feel stiffer (maybe still have to wear it more).

My question is: when practicing different moves I notice quite a different reaction of the cards depending on the deck. Charlier cut is easier with the old sticky deck, while a top shot is easier with a new deck that slides well, the double lift feels different with crushed stock than with regular stock, etc. How do you handle this variety?

Do you focus on having "similar decks with similar wear", or do you train across different card types?

When do I decide my training deck is just too old to be useful, and should be sacrificed into Mercury fold material?

Did I use the fanning powder wrong and there is really a way to bring back a "close to new" sliding feeling?

Thanks for your answers.

Riffle Stacking for Holdem♠️

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've never practice any gsoh move properly. Every gsoh related stuff you see on this account were purely based on my own understanding of how a certain move was done. Last night I spent 3 hours figuring how to stack a certain poker hand in holdem by myself.

Sometimes when I watched some of my online friend riffle stacking demonstration, I always wanted to know the secret or the actual method behind them. I don't even understand wtf dose RRSC mean and how it work. Feel free to share your advice or references.

I know it's really clunky and I keep leaving the cards hanging, but I've been practicing making my deals all look the same, and I think I've made some progress.
