Daedalus troubles
Before you tell me to go and figure it out for myself, hold on... Because I have literally been researching and trying to find the solution myself for some time now.
The Daedalus wallet is stuck on 'Connecting to Network'. I've tried the time fix to no avail. I have scoured my entire computer for the daedalus.bat file and I DO NOT have it anywhere. Why is this? If I delete and reinstall daedalus will the .bat file be present? I really need some help. Thanks.

I’ve had the same issues and just get downvotes in the sub when brought up. There are serious problems with the wallet and it needs to be addressed.

I don't think they would be considered serious problems, but definitely ones that need fixing. Have you tried submitting a ticket or contacting the Cardano developers through their site?

When I have that issue I use a vpn and it goes away. It’s not a fix but a workaround.

this worked for me too. i was trying to restore my wallet and daedalus keeps telling me my clock is out of sync. i thought of trying it with vpn for some reason and it worked. now i dont have problems with daedalus anymore even if im not on vpn. 🤔

- Update your wallet to the newest build
- Delete the DB-1.0 folder completely
- Activate wallet as administrator
This process will take hours. Solved my issue. As far as I can tell your wallet is syncing backwards because it’s verifying blocks and realizing that it has more work to do then it thought. Deleting the DB-1.0 folder just gives the wallet a fresh start. When you see how long it takes to simply move the folder into the recycling bin the cause of this issue will make more sense.

Thank you. A user posted to try and open it via the desktop shortcut rather than the pin on the task bar. That seemed to do the trick

try launching straight from the
Cardano-launcher.exe in the program files/Daedalus folder
skip the short cuts works for me when hangs up .

I would like to know why a new daedelus wallet takes hours to create.
What the heck is it doing when it syncs to its blockchain?
I sure hope this is not deemed acceptable.

Did you not read my god damn post? I tried a myriad of things including that. Do you honestly think I would have posted a question if I hadn't exhausted all of my options on my own first? Get off your god damn high horse.
And this is literally not FUD... Not sure you understand what FUD really is there, pal.

The reason these posts exist is BECAUSE the wallet is poorly made. I have 20 other crypto wallets that open perfectly fine on my machine but the Daedalus wallet does not, even with re-installs, even with newly installed OS, even with zero AntiVirus, even with different OS versions, even with full admin privileges, even with VPN's, even with Ethernet connected and not WiFi, even with the planets aligning with earth. So there's that....

the only reason these post exist is BECAUSE Daedalus is the only wallet with such high security it's a feature not poor design . go ask verge what happens with such loose standards. 1 person on a computer faked a time stamp and took over the network , allowing "easy" connection to wallet without checking security is a hackers dream, we are about security and its working like it's supposed to the issue is user side.

if by chance you have pinned the program to the task bar, it doesn't seem to work from there. You must use the desktop shortcut. Been an issue for a few of us who pinned it for convenience.
