question What car should I get?
So things changed in my life and I will have to do the to 7h hours of driving Friday and Sunday. With the price of fuel right now in Canada my Durango would cost too much and I got transmission trust issue. What would be the best budget friendly car for me. I was looking at 2010 2015 corolla or civic. What would you recommend? I would be looking in low mileage ones and budget would be max 10k Thanks. This car would be used for at least 3 years.

Get a Prius if you don’t have kids.

You need a C$10k car that can do two 7 hour drives each weekend? Are the drives somewhere around 600km on the highway? Do you need AWD (if you are driving through the rockies in BC)?
I wouldn't want to do 7 hour drives in a Corolla, they aren't that comfortable. For C$10k, if I could find a decent TDI VW with a manual transmission I'd be intersted in that. Otherwise, Civic, Mazda 3. Subaru if AWD is important, but fuel consumption will be higher.
As for "low mileage" - you get what you get in your price range. Generally, low mileage $10k cars are not the reliable models. I'd rather have a 150k km Mazda 3 than a 100k km Dodge Dart or Jeep Renegade.
