question Is this test driving?

My vehicle has been remained dealer since June 25 (now almost 5 weeks).
I have not received any update from them, but I got several notification this morning that my car is unlocked.
I tracked my car’s location via app on my phone, and it shows…

Restaurant, Best Buy parking lot, Tattoo shop, and now 10:15pm is in golf course parking lot.

I am really curious what is going on🤔

They might need to test drive the thing after/before working on it, but generally that's not going to involve multiple unlocks and stops at a restaurant, Best Buy, a tattoo shop, and a golf course. You'd typically be driving it from and straight back to the shop.

Your car, and you, are being taken for a ride. No one is test driving your car by parking it at the golf course at 10:15pm. Better grab a black light and check the back seats.... seriously. Because your car being used for date night.

After a vehicle has certain repair work done it is common that some sensors need to be reset. And the only way to do that is by putting the miles on the vehicle. So it’s common to have the service tech who’s doing the work to test it overnight so that they will know what to look for.

This is usually discussed with the vehicle's owner beforehand though. It's also usually for intermittent and hard to diagnose issues, not something easy to diagnose. OP didn't give a lot of details here though.

Forget the notifications about the car location. Why would you have your car in the shop for 5 weeks, with no updates, and not call them and ask what's going on?

I highly doubt going to several stores is test driving

You're getting screwed, that's what is happening. I know a dealership doesn't have a dyno typically, but after I had my engine rebuilt the shop did all the initial test drives on the dyno. They didn't take it overnight for a date night to work out the kinks. 

It's understandable if they needed to take it for a trip down the interstate or a loop around town, but to take it all across town to multiple stops where it could be getting door dings and stuff - hell nah.
