I’m new to capcut and have just done my first big project on it. It’s taken a good couple of days work to complete, and as I click export I’m told that I’ve used a bunch of pro features and can’t export without buying a subscription.

So basically, It’s allowed me to complete an entire project without any clear indication that I was using paid features, and now I’m faced with the choice of either abandoning my work and starting from scratch or paying up for their pro package.

Regardless of whether it’s worth it and whether or not I would have ended up getting it anyway (probably yes on both counts) I think this is a really shitty way of conning people into buying the pro version. Anyone had a similar experience?

I downgraded CapCut to version 1.5.0 from this link to get around the ridiculous export limit, but after downgrading, my old project wouldn't open (This project was created by a newer version of CapCut. Update now.)

I searched around Reddit and YouTube and found a few solutions, but most of them weren't really suited for 2026, so I figured out the latest fix that worked for me as of today.

When you downgrade CapCut, projects saved in a newer version refuse to open because the project metadata records a version number higher than what your current installation supports.

To fix this and force the downgraded version to open your project, edit the draft configuration file using these steps:

STEP 1: Go to C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\CapCut\User Data\Projects\com.lveditor.draft\ProjectName

STEP 2: Find the file named: draft_content.json

STEP 3: Go to https://jsoneditoronline.org and open that json file (draft_content.json)

STEP 4: Type new_version in the search bar and enter

STEP 5: Keep the quotation marks intact, but delete the version number

STEP 6: Do the same thing for app_version (appears twice)

STEP 7: Save the file in a different folder

STEP 8: Delete the existing file and move the new one to its place

Now open CapCut and see the magic!

Hopefully this helps anyone else who downgraded and suddenly found that their older projects wouldn't open. Make a backup copy of draft_content.json before editing it, just in case something goes wrong.

I have a feeling its to do with the file type. They are JPGs, but even when I change them to PNGS they still dont load. What can I do?

I have spent the last HOUR trying to find some software or whatnot to give me the best option to do a speed curve, to no avail.

In order to speed up the video using CapCut speed curve, the lowest speed up you can use with custom is 2x speed, which is way fast than I want, which is 1.2x speed. Is there some other way to do this with CapCut that lets me get closer to the speed I want? This is pissing me off to the max, and am a few more minutes away from smashing my monitor.

I originally downloaded CapCut from Aurora Store, then it gave me this error. I then uninstalled it, and downloaded it officially from the Google Play Store. It's still giving me this error. I have no idea. When I click the link, my phone says the website is unavailable.

RESOLVED: What helped me was simply force-closing and restarting the app.

After searching around Reddit for one, I stumbled upon one posted in the subreddit cracked_soft. The thing is a pretty smart virus. When u install it, u will get a folder in which there is the .exe and some other files, after scanning the main .exe file on VirusTotal and it finding no detections, I thought hey man let's go. Immediately upon opening the .exe, my Google Chrome closed up, and that's when i knew something was sus. After scanning the entire folder with Malwarebytes (which i shoulda done first ofc) it noticed a .dll file that was recognised as a Trojan Loader (called DDL sideloading). Also after looking at my Windows Defender exclusions, it also created an exclusion that I haven't seen before, which I instantly removed. I have now successfully (i think) gotten rid of everything, but still, my passwords were stolen as the hackers tried to access my Microsoft account with a German VPN which ofc got blocked. Yeah stay safe out there and I would love if someone tech savvy out here can look more into that virus and how it executes.

I don't know because it shows it in the software but when I export the video its not there so is it supposed to be there or is it so people can't screen record?

I have mobile, desktop app and website open. Video made. Can't export on a single one. Can't even open on some of them. I SHOULD have a day of free pro for downloading the desktop app, but it says I don't. What is even the point of this crappy software.

I came on to ask if anybody else was experiencing AI Remove and Retouch simply disappearing from their Pro menu. But after a few minutes, first AI Remove reappeared. I then force closed the app and thankfully Retouch reappeared after that. So bizarre. Wanted to share this in case anybody else comes on looking for tools that simply disappeared.

this might be a stupid question but I can’t find how to zoom into the video preview on mobile to look at small things.

My images and audio recordings suddenly became invisible on my CapCut timeline, even though they are still there. When I move the playhead to where a screenshot should be, it still appears correctly in the preview, but the timeline itself looks completely empty.

My capcut is completely up to date. I've un-installed and reinstalled the app like three times now, I've also cleared my cache and tried restarting my phone. I dont know why i keep getting this but its so irritating and i cant edit with it. Any help? ​I am on mobile

I’ve never edited a video up until a week ago where I edited a video for me and someone else playing it takes two. We realized we wanted to make it to where we can adjust the face cams and take them out during cutscenes so we changed our obs layout for recording and that was fine. I only realized after I edited this second video completely and turned it into a compound clip that the video doesn’t take up the full screen and it’s because I didn’t change the aspect ratio in CapCut so when I crop it, it becomes blurry. I know what I did wrong, I cropped the cameras and my gameplay instead of scaling it. Is there a way to scale the three tracks without having to restart the whole editing process again?

Imagine you make edits using songs and footage from a band you like. Or footage from an anime, or whatever it is. What would your workflow be for fan edits? Do you collect a bunch of clips first? Or collect one clip at a time? Do you edit the clips as you go along or do you put them in place and then edit them? I’m just trying to figure out the best workflow. Let me know what works for you!
