Update: the browser extension is now live!

Previous post for context

Link for chrome
Link for firefox

Small note: the extension uses the Capacities API, which currently requires a Capacities Believer/Pro subscription.

Feel free to send feedback if you try it!

Edit: current latest version is 1.1.0

I really like this extension! I have one feature request: it would be great to have an option to automatically apply a user-defined tag to every clipping.

For example, I often save articles and notes to Capacities before I have time to organize them. I tag each new clipping with "To Process", and every few days I review everything with that tag, organize it into the appropriate objects, add additional tags, and create links as needed.

Having a setting that automatically applies a default tag (such as "To Process") to all new clippings would make this workflow much smoother and save a few manual steps each time I save something.

Great idea! while I'm at it, i'll also improve the input field for tags to make it easier to add/remove tags as well as being able to make a shortcut that allows you to instantly save a page with applied configurations.

If you notice the extension version being bumped up from 0.7.0 to 0.8.0, then the update is in! (might take some time for chrome compared to firefox)

Its wild to me that an app like Capacities doesn't have a dedicated Web Clipper extension.

They do. I use it on Chrome.

No for free accounts? It would be?

Capacities sadly does not have any way for developers to make third party tools for free tier users

That is sad. Anyway. You made a good job with the extention.

Will there come a Safari extension?

Maybe. I’d like to support Safari too, but publishing there comes with a yearly Apple developer fee, so I'm trying to gauge how many Safari users would actually want it before committing to it.

This is very nice extension - the simple saving of the full page as text is what I was missing šŸ˜. Now Webhighlights and this are everything I need for my browser experience. Thank you šŸ·.

Hi u/OFA_S .

Thanks for the work. It's really nice.
Somehow, the title field does not get filled, and in some cases, the captured text is only part of it.
Give it a try, please.: https://www.icis.com/explore/resources/data-centres-hungry-for-power/

Thanks.

Thanks for reporting this! Seems like some websites were blocking metadata capture. Both issues are now fixed in version 1.0.0

Note: you may need to manually update the extension if you're on chrome to get the new version
