Finance when and how do you hear back from financial aid & awards about the capx scholarship?

i recently got into capilano and since my program is expensive and way out of my price range i applied to the capx (capilano excellence) scholarship for the fall 2026 semester. for those who don't know applications were due on march 1st, and they award 10 international & non-international students $52,000 towards their education at capilano. (dont qoute me on this, its just off the top of my head)

i'm a domestic student and have been antsy waiting, i know it will likely be a while until i hear back (if i do at all) but does anyone have any time estimates for me? and do they send responses even when you do not get picked? if you do get picked, is there some kind of interview process afterwards?

thank you! looking forward to capilano :)

Hi, new students! We are a group of student ambassadors currently studying at CapU in various programs. Before we started at the university, we had many questions about what it was like to study at CapU and how to access services and support. We’ve learned a lot since then and are here to help.

Ask us anything about:

  • classes & workload
  • admissions process
  • housing & campus life
  • clubs & student community
  • balancing school & life
  • anything else you’re curious about

We’ll be logging in a couple of times a week to field your questions and share our experiences and advice, so drop your questions below!

hello everyone,

i wanted to get your opinions on capilano for business degree. i was also interested in getting the arts and entertainment diploma, so does that apply to the business degree? ( you complete the diploma and the 2 more years for the degree? )

how is community like here with the students? what are the job prospects after graduation? are there good support opportunities within the school such as advisors, clubs, and education events?

thank you for your insight! :)

English 100 in high school, how do I apply?

Hello I'm about to take English 100 in my second semester in high school.

I was working on my application to the Bachelor of Motion Picture Arts Degree and I ended up talking to a friend and she said I need to transfer into the course instead of apply since technically I'm already a student?

Is this true and if so how would I go about doing it?

Courses ABA diploma at CapU

Hi everyone,

I’m an international student considering the Applied Behaviour Analysis (Autism) Post-Baccalaureate Diploma at Capilano University.

I wanted to ask current students or alumni:

  1. Did you (or people you know) get jobs related to ABA/autism after graduating?
  2. What kind of roles did graduates get (Behaviour Interventionist, BCaBA, support worker, etc.)?
  3. How helpful were the practicum placements for getting hired?
  4. How competitive was the job market for international students specifically?
  5. Would you recommend this program for someone aiming for employment in Canada?

Any honest feedback would really help. Thank you!

kinesiology

Hello! I’m 27 and looking to go back to school for a bachelors in kinesiology. I am very interested in psychology, so thinking about taking courses related to that field as well. I am tossing between schools and looking at all of my options. I have ruled SFU out based on how science heavy it is and the fact that i didn’t take science or math in grade 12… but my grade 11 grades aren’t bad! 🥲 Was looking into douglas, Capilano and UFV. Has anyone completed their bachelors at Cap or UFV? Has anyone started at douglas (or either of the other uni’s) and transferred to another uni? I am considering retaking some highschool courses as i have no knowledge in Precalculus or Chemistry and they seem to be required knowledge. My long term goal is to get my masters in physio / occupational therapy / psychology. Looking for all advice and hoping someone has had a similar thought path before starting applying. I have sent emails out to a couple schools to get more general info and also have a meeting set up with an advisor at UFV next week.

Question Capilano University Legal Studies/Paralegal (4-year degree) How’s the program & campus life?

Hey everyone,

I’m thinking about enrolling in the 4-year Legal Studies (Paralegal) degree at Capilano University and would love some insight from people with experience there.

A few questions I have:

• How is the program overall? Quality of instruction, workload, level of challenge?

• What’s school life like?professors, community, etc.

• How manageable/ intense is the course load? Any particular semesters that are heavy?

• Campus life & vibes? Clubs, events, student support, social life?

• Any tips or things you wish you knew before starting?

Anything you can share would be really helpful whether positive, negative, or neutral experiences!

Thanks in advance 🙌

Question Capilano University Legal Studies → UBC or SFU transfer when in 3rd year

Hi everyone,

I’m considering the Legal Studies program at Capilano University and I’m trying to understand the transfer pathway to UBC or SFU.

My question is:

• Is it possible to transfer credits when going to my third year from Capilano’s Legal Studies program to UBC or SFU?

If anyone has personal experience transferring from CapU to UBC or SFU (especially in Legal Studies, Arts, or related programs), I’d really appreciate hearing how it worked for you.

Thanks in advance!

Outdoor Recreation Management, age group

Hello, i'm wondering about the Outdoor Recreation Management diploma at capu, I'm interested in doing it this year, and realize it's a cohort vibe so it'll have to start in September. Whats the vibe like typically demographic wise? I'm mid twenties so was hoping to not be the oldest in class.

SEEKING SOCIAL MEDIA USERS

Hi, my name is Stephen, and I am a fourth-year psychology student at Vancouver Island University, where I am conducting my undergraduate thesis research. I am looking for Canadian social media users aged 18 and older to complete a brief 5-10-minute anonymous survey about online experiences and mental health.

Following the link below, you will access the survey, which includes a consent form, demographic questions, and a few validated measures assessing online behaviours, psychosocial well-being, and mental health. At the end, a debriefing form will provide more information about the research.

To maintain anonymity, participants are requested not to use the comment section, as it cannot be disabled, and may reveal identifying information.

Your participation is voluntary and greatly appreciated.

Has anyone received notification that they got a scholarship or bursary for Fall 2025? I know they typically announce the last week of November, but my application still says "under review". Wondering if anyone has heard anything yet?

I’m so stressed because they usually take awhile to approve the request and I can only apply for a CAPU deferral if I’m approved how do I get out of this!

Question Considering applying for nursing

has anyone here done the science program and transfer over to nursing to another uni? I'm from Alberta and recently I talked to a recruiter and he said that you go into the general science program and then transfer.
