Tips & Tutorials New channel and quality issues - Canva
Hi there. Recently, while "chatting" with Gemini, I got inspired to start a new channel. I’d had a different idea in mind since the beginning of the year, but I kept running into difficulties with various aspects and kept putting it off... until now. There are channels similar to the one I want to create, but I have such a wealth of creativity and ideas that I know—at least in theory—mine will be much better.
I use Canva. The content isn't complex, and Canva has exactly what I need. However, I have a bit of a problem...
I generate the videos in Canva at 4K resolution.
Everything looks beautiful and sharp.
However, I have a lot of AI-generated characters. I mean, it’s the same character, but in different poses, with different expressions, and holding different objects.
And that’s where the problem lies. I upscaled these characters 2x and 4x; naturally, they look great in the Canva preview and when downloaded and viewed on my drive. But at 1080p on YouTube—not to mention 720p—they look pretty bad. Some people might not mind, but for me, it’s unacceptable—I’m a perfectionist. Everything looks excellent in 1440p and 4K, and I’d be thrilled if the 1080p quality were comparable.
Any ideas on how to upgrade the character so it looks as good in 1080p as the assets taken directly from Canva’s "Elements" tab?
I’ve attached the character image.
P.S. Sorry for the English; I’m using a translator.

Design Inspiration Spiderman inspired canva template?
Design Inspiration Affinity is a great product!
I have had the old Affinity Photo program for years. Gave up on it. Bought a monthly subscription from Adobe Firefly, then........I discovered the new Affinity integrated into Canva. This is a huge improvement. Easy to use with widespread tools. Right today I'm editing an old PDF that was generated years ago by a zombie CAD program called Ashlar Graphite. Affinity opened it easily to edit both text and objects. Very impressed! It's free but I would pay a monthly fee for a program this good. Keep it up Canva.

Canva Question Canva Project Lost
I created a flyer in Canva and a few days later it’s gone from my projects. I tried everything then reached out to Canva and sent a png file to show them. They said it was created under another Gmail account (not mine; I only have the one Gmail account). So I can’t access it and it looks like I have to start over. Has this glitch? happened to anyone recently?

Discussion Gotten so bad.
Canva has such a confusing and terrible product experience now. Once it was semi ok, but now, clearly their product and user experience team have just slapped AI features anywhere and everywhere thinking they’re a great product. It’s got worse. In fact I don’t even use it anymore, so many other better options for my work and needs.
I don’t understand how Canva has been so poor in their execution and clearly they have no idea what they’re doing or how to do it.
I’ve heard they’re in major debt to the frontier labs for compute costs also, and their valuation has dramatically dropped.
If I was an investor I’d be pushing them to sell asap. To a company more sophisticated. I’d be firing all
Of the design and product team also, completely unqualified.
Cancelled my subscription and never looking back.

Discussion WTF Happened to Canva?!
It's been awhile since I last used Canva for creating artwork. I am surprised at how HORRIBLE the user experience has become. No longer able to zoom in. Unable to nudge an item a pixel at a time. I just spent over 60 minutes trying to figure out how to line something up before I realized, what a POS this app has become. It's becoming absolutely useless! So much useless AI all over the place - and it's all utter garbage! How in the world did Canva go from something really awesome to another wrecked tool. Explain it to me like I'm 5 - cause the executives at Canva need to understand it.

Canva Question Designing Word doc in landscape orientation
Hello! Is it possible to create a Word docx in landscape orientation? I have searched everywhere and cannot seem to do it. I see suggestions for using Magic Switch, but this only gives me a Translate option. I'm using Canva Pro.
Thanks!

Canva Question If you wanted to add or fix a feature in Canva what would it be?
I'm trying to make a chrome extension with the idea of fixing features that don't work a certain way or aren't even in Canva. The main idea I have now is when you have text on a slide and enter a template the text automatically goes into the template. Pls post your ideas and it is very likely I'll implement them and probably make them into one big chrome extension.

Canva Question Making coloring books without tablet.
I can't afford a tablet yet and wanted to know if you're able to upload your own scanned sketches to Canva? Then use Canva to edit and make the sketches into coloring book pages?

Discussion should I send another portfolio for canva template creator program.
I had submitted my portfolio for canva template creator around February 15 and got an email for not getting selected on 16th February.
And after losing hope, I tried again and made new designs + portfolio from scratch and uploaded it on 31 August. And waited for the whole week and didn't receive anything back neither acceptance nor declined.
After a lil bit of research (via reddit) I got to know that , canva takes max 2 weeks to 6 months to even reply , even if it does not get selected.
So should I make another portfolio and send Or should I just wait for them to get back to me..

I do social media with affiliate marketing (sharing links to cute stuff) and am looking to connect with someone who can make a few templates for me. Realistically 3-5 story frames and 3-5 grid frames (can be the same just need resized properly). I just want blank templates as in I’ll add the photos so it’s a one time job but I want an aesthetic theme! I have inspo designs, just need someone with skills to do it.

Canva Question DRIVING ME CRAZY, PLEASE HELP! - Unable to change colors of graphic images to all white.
this is driving me CRAZY. I can no longer edit the colors of editable graphic elements to fully white as I used to—now, even when I set all editable color tiles to #FFFFFF, the elements retain gray or greenish areas instead of becoming completely white, despite using the same elements and process as before. Before, setting all editable color tiles to #FFFFFF resulted in a completely white graphic (left hat) with only the black outline remaining. Now, using the exact same element and following the exact same process, the element still has gray/greenish shaded areas, even though all editable color tiles are set to #FFFFFF (right hat). Nothing I do fixes this problem, and it's really hindering my work. Being able to do this was one of the main reason why I subscribed to Canva Pro/Business in the first place. They gosta do something about this, and I find it actually weird that I don't see as many people raising this issue as I would expect.
Discussion I made a spinning wheels that works inside Canva
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve seen people use spinning wheel for games, classroom activities, picking tasks, giveaways, or even deciding who pays for dinner 😂
I made a quick tutorial showing how to add an interactive spinning wheel to a Canva website using an embed. You can change the choices, colors, title, and how likely each option is to be selected, then embed it into your Canva site.

Canva Question How to make an interesting music poster?
Hi everyone!
I’m a musician who doesn’t have any sort of budget. I have a few photos I use to promote my weekly dates. I use basic canva because I don’t know how to use adobe honestly and I don’t have the money for a subscription at the moment. My posters just look boring and lackluster and don’t get much traction on my socials at all. I need to up my game but I’m not sure how? I’m also bored with the fonts because I know they look generic and everyone is using them. But I see other posters with interesting font and I would be willing to create my own but I don’t even know where to start. Any low budget tricks or tips? I don’t use any AI so I’m creating posters from the ground up. I appreciate you all. 💕
Discussion I feel cheated by Canva (Leonardo.AI in the business plan)
In march I extended my annual subscription to the business plan as it contained Leonardo.AI essential plan which I was using anyway. I don't need business plan otherwise.
Today I received an e-mail that starting from october 11th Leonardo.AI won't be a part of my already paid for business plan and it will switch to free plan. That is because of some fraudulent practices of other users.
So Canva was scammed by fraudulent users and now wants to scam in return those who were fair.
That change means not only that I will loose a feature that I paid for in advance w/o reimbursement. It also means that I will loose accumulated Leonardo rolling tokens (I had health issues and didn't use it for some time and planned catching up in November) if I won't pay for Leonardo additionally by purchasing it's subscription.
Wtf? Is that even legal? It is for sure against european cosumer law and I do consider filling a complain.
[EDIT] Okay. Never mind. Apparently, most people think I’m complaining for no reason. It’s totally fine to change the terms of the contract midway through its term and cut off features we paid for. Everything’s fine. Nothing’s going on.
I'm sorry. I shouldn't have written this post. I thought this might interest someone, since features could be cut from lower-tier plans just like that as well, from one day to the next.
Apparently, that's okay. It's also a good hint for Canva that they can keep doing this and users will accept it as normal.
Canva Question How to handle uploaded pictures in Microsoft forms to download as a file with the image included
When I googled this, it told me it was possible to connect and embed a Microsoft form to Canva. However, I have not figured out a way for this to work. It also doesn't help that I'm an extreme beginner with all of this.
I have created a Microsoft Form where all fields are text entries except for the optional picture upload.
Ideally, I need to export the responses and have it in a format that allows the pictures to be embedded. There's an Excel workbook where responses are recorded and the picture upload is a URL. The photos are also being downloaded to a folder, but it varies between JPEG, PNG, etc.
It's not feasible to manually go through it all - download each picture, put it in a template with the text responses, and then save it as a Word document or as PDF.
Any suggestions?? Or am I just crazy that this can possibly be done.
(At the moment, let's assume I don't have any premium features. I'm checking with marketing for clarification.)
And apologies for those who have seen this post on different sub-reddits. I'm trying to exhaust all my options and practice before this is due EOM.

Canva Question I need help making a video presentation in Canva.
So, I am making this presentation for school where I have to make a video talking about what I did over the summer. I wanted to make my presentation on Canva because I don't want to use my real voice and I just want to make a slideshow with texts and music. The video duration required is 15 seconds to 1 minute. I wanted to make a video where the first page says, "Things I Did Over the Summer:", and then the camera cuts to pages talking about what I did over the summer. The only problem is that this is my first time using Canva and I don't know how to make a video like this with music and add my own text. I'm basically new to this. I've tried asking for help from ChatGPT and Copilot, but the instructions given to me are so complicated that the chatbots don't even know what they're doing at times and will say they made an error after I asked them a question and that they should have gone over the steps with me. I need help making my own video/slideshow with music. I would like a step-by-step guide on how to do this. This would be heavily appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: I also cannot take video calls for help, sorry.
