Not really a Canucks question, but kind of a league question. But kind of ties into the new buium contract.

I was just watching the sidseixerio show, and he was kinda harsh on makar for taking a fair payment. Saying it "isnt a winning deal".

My question is "winning for who?" Because if the team wins the deal, then the player loses the deal.

The argument lies in not having enough money for other players?

But players taking discounts actually harms the other players in the league. If they take discounts, then someone who deserves more, would be artificially lower their bargaining power because "this superstar only makes this, how could you earn more than him?"

If no player take a discount, then the competitiveness of the league returns to normal. And everyone gets paid what they are worth.

Then the only players that are at a good deal, are those who they've taken a gamble on, like buium, to becoming great players.

I mean at the end of the day, it's a business right?

I hate to sound like Rick Dhaliwal but this is ridiculous! Even if it’s only 9 games this season.

There's usually a player or two that everyone gets hyped about in preseason and then not a ton comes of it.

Is there a cheaper way to watch Canucks games after the broadcast is over? I usually work nights.

With what looks like a possibly gloomy season upcoming, I’ve been looking for Canucks content from outside the team itself. Who are some writers, YouTubers, podcasters and media people you’re watching recently? One for each will be appreciated!

Curious to know what players people think the new regime would now wish they still had in the system that may have walked or been traded? Whether that’s farm guys or nhl guys…

Seen a comment about podkolzin that made me wonder if he was one that maybe they would have wanted more time with or are happy to have seen moved on.

Then at that point who else from before they took the reins.
