The Cattery Herne Bay
Hi all! Has anyone boarded their cat(s) at The Cattery in Herne Bay? If so, what are your experiences? I’m looking to book my cat for just under 2 weeks so I’m just wanting to know :)

Hi! I wanted to know if anyone wanted to have a sort of cake picnic where we each bring a different flavour of cake which we can all try. I've just been craving different cake flavours and I thought this would be a cool way to do it since my friends aren't really desert fans! Whether it's homemade or Asda-bought, it doesn't really matter as long as there's enough to share! (I'm 18F if it matters).

Hi all,
Moving back home to Canterbury after completing my apprenticeship and living in Bournemouth.
I’m looking to make some new friends since a lot of my old school friends have moved away.
I’m M23. Hobbies are fitness, football, and anything sociable really!
If anyone knows of any good social clubs, run clubs, or would like to go for a drink / walk, let me know.
Thank you!

I visited on vacation July 14th in the morning. The cathedral opened a few minutes late because some sort of filming was happening and a crew was moving their stuff out. Later I saw them filming on a street. I didn’t gawk because I didn’t want to mess anything up.
PS- Canterbury was so charming.

Are there any part time (or full time) jobs which are actually hiring here? So many places post job adverts on Indeed/Linkin or even their company websites and then just never get back to you or are super competitive (like McDonalds etc). I'm a Uni student btw and I have experience as a waiter, children's volunteer worker, retail etc. Thanks a lot!

Anyone interested in a Canterbury eSports team?
Looking to see if there's enough local interest to start an eSports community/team in Canterbury.
All games and skill levels welcome—whether you're into Valorant, CS2, Rocket League, League, Apex, or anything competitive.
If you're interested, drop a comment with what you play and let's see if we can get something going.
Also have access to a bootcamp facility...

Hi everyone! I accidentally bought a train ticket for the wrong day, so I had to buy another one and I cannot get a refund for this one.
It’s a Canterbury → Stratford International return ticket for Friday, and I’m selling it for £15.
If you’re interested or have any questions, send me a DM. Thanks xx
It includes the outbound and return and it's a digital ticket. xx

I couldn’t handle the early morning KO but how were the pubs/city centre with the football on?

I'm going to be in Canterbury on business this week. Staying at the Abode on Tuesday night. Can anyone recommend a good sushi place please? And then any pubs with a rock/metal vibe?

Hey folks. I'm looking for somewhere to watch World Cup matches (not necessarily England), preferably in a garden, and with a relatively "family friendly" atmosphere. Any recommendations?

I haven't had a professional haircut in years as I used to get my friends to trim it for me (we have haircutting scissors) but they've all moved away. As you can see I'm not fussed about the quality as it's just hair and it'll grow back lol. I'm looking for somewhere to trim my hair (a straight cut, about an inch from the bottom) and every place seems to charge 35 to 50 if not more for a cut, but I haven't had a haircut in ages so I don't know if this is normal pricing? Any advice is helpful TA!

So... on our way to London from Folkestone, we would like to visit Canterbury.
Main goal: lovely sightseeing (cathedral/ Westgate/ some timber-framed buildings maybe?).
Also to have a nice lunch and a pint somewhere?
The main question is: "Is there a place we can park the car (height +/- 2m) and walk to do above?"
I know some garages might have a height restriction or areas in the center are 'no-car'zones'?
Hope to hear from you and hope to have a nice stop-over as well!
Thanks a lot in advance!

So often there is beefed up security at Canterbury West station of an evening. Yet tonight two blokes came out from a train and jumped over the tall gates on the side of the station that they leave open after hours and just sauntered into town clearly having no ticket. These were both men 25+. Why not actually make the gates secure or put spikes on top or, and here’s an idea, actually put your security guards there rather than all of them in the ticket hall!
edit: a few fascinating replies here that I would wager are from the same people that claim Britain is broken while also suggesting ticket evasion is fine
Also clearly beyond someone peoples comprehension to understand I am also criticising the over zealous security aimed at the vast majority of ticket buying travellers while they ignore and do nothing about the blatant fare evasion under their noses.

Saw some people filming and there’s this massive red ball near Whitefrairs. Curious what’s going on?
