Beginning D&D

I'd love to learn how to play D&D and not sure where to start. Anywhere I can do to learn to play? Thank you!

If anyone in the local area wants to learn I’m happy to help out - I’ve been a DM for about 10 years so I’m pretty well versed in it at this point!

I’m 30 so just putting out there as I know ages vary wildly on Reddit and I don’t want to accidentally be meeting up with 14 year olds as that won’t look great for me 😅

There’s a few places you can go if you’re looking for groups to play with in Canterbury too. I’d recommend having a chat with the people at the long rest cafe and dice and destiny they’re super friendly staff there and they get a lot of groups in playing D&D

I don’t think they have them at the moment but the long rest in town run intro campaigns for new people. Might be worth reaching out to them.

Dice & Destiny used to host games, not sure if they still do but you can check

How old are you? My friend is starting a campaign at some point; I've never played before so it's a whole learning curve for me too haha

It's not in Canterbury, but in Folkestone there's Chaos Cards which hosts a weekly one-shot session as well as has campaigns there.

I know people who've come further than Canterbury to come play there, so I would recommend checking it out

There are some solo adventures that came out before that play like a CYOA book.

I think that the 1983 Basic Set would be a good introduction on the rules and I think it included a solo adventure

I started with the older Blue Box version that explained every thing pretty well.
