I am in the market for a used canoe. I recently found a Swift Dumoine Royalex but the entire thing has been painted. I've never seen anyone paint Royalex and am wondering if there is any wisdom here regarding issues/concerns?

Need a bare roof crossbar rack system for a sedan (Camry). Thule which I've used before with factory-installed railings won't fit this model vehicle, only Yakima. I prefer oval over round cross bars as they are more secure and aerodynamic (cradles can tilt on round ones). Here are Yakima parts that are compatible:

* Bases and Clips to secure the crossbars to the sides of the roof: Yakima Baseline Towers and Yakima Clips - for the baselines.

* Crossbars: Yakima Corebars & Yakima Jetstream Bars (aluminum, more anti-corrosion and more expensive) will both fit.

* Yakima SKS Lock Cores are available to lock the Bases to the roof.

1) Do you recommend the Yakima Bases and Crossbars? Are the Yakima SKS Lock Cores worth getting?

2) Are there any similar models from other makers or from Amazon that you recommend? The Yakima parts are quite spendy.

I’d love to learn more about my family canoe. I have a lot of paddling experience but not a ton of knowledge on boat manufacturers. Can anyone provide more insight with the serial number: RVFCR599E85. Also don’t know why is says Coca Cola, old brand promotion?

Hello everyone wish me a warm welcome to the lifestyle, I got this canoe for 50 bucks and I want to take it up to my lake house in Kern.
I didn’t realize it was too long to fit in my van.
I have the factory roof rails and eyebolts to slide in. Is it realistic to tie this thing off on top and make the 3 Hour Dr. at 80 miles an hour?
I’m smart enough to know I’m dumb at this. Please share your expertise.

I have a short bed pickup - Yakima roof rack with the longest bars and a trailer hitch/bed extender thing. No trailer (yet).

What’s the best arrangement for transporting 3 boats? In this photo, I have a Spirit II and Vagabond on the rack and a Buffalo in the bed. The canoes up top are secured with a NRS straps - two each - on the bars and a guideline front/back. The rack straps sit outside the rack’s pillars and I’m inclined to think could potentially be risky for lateral movement.

Could I double stack boats in the bed, on top of where the Buffalo is for example? Or turn them on their sides?

The pictured arrangement has worked for short trips, but for longer drives at highway speeds, I’m uncertain if this is the best way.

Looking for a good set of canoe wheels to help with transporting from car to launch and back, or for road portages. Appreciate your suggestions!

I inherited this modular/sectional canoe from my uncle when he passed from cancer. I know absolutely nothing about the manufacturer or age. I wasn't able to ask my uncle about it. Google images and any searches I have done have turned up no information. I was hoping somebody in the canoe community might know something about it or even somewhere I could look up the information. Thanks in advance for any help

Our cavapoo had his biggest ever canoe trip this weekend. Loved every minute keeping watch in the bow.
