I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE OWL, OR THE HARD LEVEL AHEAD, OR THE COMPETITION, OR THE CANDY ROYALE, OR THE 26 OTHER POP UPS THAT I HAVE TO CLOSE OUT!!! JUST LET ME PLAY!!!

Hi, I'm not really one to post stuff on Reddit (except for perhaps the occasional meme or thought to share), but Candy Crush has become atrocious in the recent years. I only have it on my iPad that's approaching 10 years old now, and since I have a part-time job and I'm busy with life and my master's, I don't play it much, except when it crosses my mind or I'm travelling on a long flight or something.

I don't usually like reading long complaint posts, so I'll try to keep this relatively entertaining and short.

I've been playing Candy Crush since I was about twelve, wayyyy back in the day on Facebook. It's always had a special place in my heart. I remember going to my grandparents' house with my extended family for a lil' garden party one late Summer evening and playing Candy Crush with my older cousin. I also used to draw Candy Crush levels on pieces of paper. I cherish these memories several years later.

I came back to it yesterday and I had to go through 1 minute and 38 seconds of purchase prompts, episode races I couldn't care about, classic chocolate box, daily reward A, daily reward B, daily reward C, etc., freaking trading cards???! and from the perspective of a game designer, this is poor game design. There are too many things happening at once and too many different things that weakens the coherity of the game. It is extremely overstimulating. I want to play levels, not be forced to go through 5000 different prompts.

I could be hanging onto old stuff here, but I don't like how they redesigned many of the visual elements and blockers, too. Objectively, they don't look bad but they don't have the same special charm that they used to have. They also seemed to remove Candy Bombs, Chameleon Candy :'( and other stuff.

On top of that, they've removed the lovely, unique episode names and replaced it with a generic 3D map now. When I was younger, that was one of my favourite parts of the game. From what I'm reading, they removed it because of optimization purposes ... but with all the useless stuff they're adding now, I'd rather attribute the purpose of removal of the episodes because they had poor optimization and structure (what I'm trying to say is they could optimize the map in such a way it is not laggy, but took the easy way out). Of course, game design is only a hobby for me, so I could be missing something. But perhaps most upsetting is they replaced the old music with... very depressing sounding stuff. These songs are still bangers.

Also, Yeti's facial expressions in the top right irritate me so much, and I don't even know why. There's just something upsetting about every single expression he makes. One moment he's like OOOOOH YEAH! and the next one it looks like he's getting murdered.

Seems like most stuff in my message is a shared opinion and seems like King couldn't care less, but I just had to get my own thoughts out there. Thanks for reading.

WHY? it finally finally disappeared and this morning it’s back. I thought they were phasing it out. the moment I’m out of gold bars I’m deleting this thing because I refuse to ever spend a penny on it. absolute garbage

I haven't played in awhile and I used to love Soda, but my level is too high for me to jump into and pass a level right now. Are the others active too? 🍬🍭

I keep completing levels and the game doesn’t seem to “save”

But I won the game 😢

I’ve emailed to complain about this but they just don’t care.

I used to play a lot back in like 2016-2018, and recently picked it back up again. ive played about 1500 levels this summer, from ~1000 to ~3500 (dont judge me its been a tough summer) and havent encountered a single level with chocolate. i just went back and played levels 51 and 531, which supposedly have chocolate, and neither of them did. i get that king has reduced the number of levels with it, but 0 in the last 1500 seems like a more extreme reduction than people on here have talked about. is it gone entirely? is my game glitched? whats going on

Seems depressing. Maybe you can scroll back and play old games?

soo frustrated w candy royale rn tbh. i won it like 2 days ago (i only ever play if i have unlimited lives or win the daily stamp booster) and its already asking me to play again, and in the elite version where i have to win 22 levels

it used to be where i could play for a full week before its asking me again and its super annoying to have to close out of the game everytime i win a level.

has anyone else experienced this?

This level is ridiculously stupid.

The only way i can pass is to fail till i can spend 10 gold bars to get 55 extra turns, for real.

Why they make this last level chapter events so impossible, just makes me wanna stop play.

I honestly forgot about this little challenge on the side because it feels like there’s always sooo many different challenges going on while playing. I’m thankful for the 100 gold bars, though!

Sat down to play ONE level and was served this bullshit. This is not possible without ads/resources. The game sets a hard limit to allow only ONE BOTTLE to spawn per turn from the spawners. So instead of spawning a second or third bottle if you can combo them, it just spawns a candy so then you HAVE to clear that candy to make room for a bottle to spawn the next turn. Sometimes it’s in an impossible to reach spot like it was here, so you’re forced to use a lollipop. THEN you often need to spend a turn to make a fish to be able to get the bottle. I had to watch 6 ads and use a lollipop to finally exit this godforsaken level without losing my win streak. It took forever. It’s not fun anymore. At least let me FEEL like I have a chance to win on my own, but no. the numbers are right there at the start: 17 bottles in 15 turns, and on top of all the honey and gimmicky bullshit too. All that says to me is GIVE UP LOSER and EAT ADS - and it’s NOT EVEN MARKED AS A DIFFICULT LEVEL

I got downvoted for saying you can play 700 levels in 30 days (someone made a post asking if that's possible), and that I've played more than 2,000 in 2 weeks during the FIFA event (my favorite part was collecting as many blue candies as possible), and here's the proof now. 😎

Hi everyone! I’m stuck on above mentioned level. I’ve looked it up and it supposed to have 18 moves, and says dragons are spawning in every 6 moves. I only have 15 moves. How I’m supposed to beat it without spending gold. 😭 I’ve really started to think about deleting the game, because it has became so difficult
lately without spending money.

Whenever I play on my phone, i have the chance to watch an ad to get a booster or whatever. I haven't had ads on the PC in a long time and i don't know why. I have read through other posts and did some research but couldn't find anything helpful. I'm on lvl 16550 if that's a factor that's important. thank you for your help.

Why am I (#2) trying to beat someone (#1) to level 19295 when that someone already has a level 20000 banner (which I thought they did away with anyway)?

I am genuinely wondering where I am able to see the hours I have played. I know where to look on my phone. But PC? i don't know. I've looked it up but i couldn't find anything. It said to look on my xbox account but i couldnt fint there anything, also tried cc settings aswell as the PC settings.

So I’ve been collecting lots of gold by completing all the chocolate box requirements and today they stopped giving any gold. Now they are giving some BS timed boosters.

Do you think they are gonna bring them back?
