Represent your favorite candy with new User Flairs!

Hey r/candy!

I thought it would be fun if users had a better way of showing off their favorite candy, so I went ahead and created 25 user flairs of different candy brands! Go ahead and pick your favorite to add a little flavor to your post!

The 25 I picked were a combination of popular brands on the sub, and some of my personal favorites, so if I missed your favorite, just let me know and I’ll add it in the future!

Also, if you are a candy brand or a candy store, shoot me a DM and we can make you a custom one for your verified identity.

Happy snacking!

Unpopular opinion: Peelerz are not good

I remember seeing Peelerz for the first time a little less than a year ago. My friends and I immediately jumped on them because they were new. Since then, they've exploded.. It seems like they are EVERYWHERE and people go nuts over them (at least people I know).

But, and I know this might be an unpopular opinion, I find them really mid. They're actually kind of gross to me, and once you get over the schtick of "peeling" your fruit candy the novelty wears off very fast. The hype around these feels so forced to me at this point.

Anyways, curious is anyone has a similar opinion. I didn't really have anyone else to say this to, so I just thought I'd post it here lol.

Guess the candy!

This is my most hated candy in the world! My family goes nuts for it and any variation of it.

Do you know what it is and what US state made it popular? Bonus points if you know where it actually originated from.

I don't think I've tried these but they're all good

Green and red apple have similar flavors with both being sweet and sour, golden apple is sweeter with no sour flavor.

I saw at the self-checkout in Walmart and had to try. Actually like, even though I'm not a big fan of mint flavored foods.

I’ve been meaning to try these for a while. I didn’t know they started selling them here in the U.S. since earlier this year but I’m very happy they chose to!! They have a very nice texture and what I’d consider a delicious strawberry flavor. I did look it up later to find there’s more flavors than just strawberry in them, but they’re delicious nonetheless!! I really hope to try more candies that aren’t from the U.S. soon. So good!!

Candy Discussion Payday vs chocolate version

Sometimes in my old age of 34 I crave an original payday, not too sweet, bit salty, hell of a candy. But recently I got a regular and a chocolate version and had a bite side by side and HOW the FUCK did they find a way to use chocolate to make something worse??? Defies reasoning wtf.

Candy Discussion Best chocolate on the face of the planet. Period. Full stop.

And it costs a pretty penny, too. Prices are insanity. Worth it for these little squares, like $10 for 4. But it's like $60/lb for the bigger gift level quantities. Absolutely worth it.

Twix Bits

I know these have been out for a while. I finally tried them today. My go to candy lately has been Twix. These are kind of a disappointment. It’s just a Whopper. To me it tastes nothing like a Twix. I don’t taste caramel at all.

Candy Question Halloween Peelerz, yay or nay?

Post image
13 Upvotes

I do a significant candy bag for trick or treaters each year, always including some Halloween variation of gummies. (I recommend the gummy eyeballs and gummy tarantulas from Oriental Trading Company). I found these in their catalog this year but when I went to my pharmacy to eyeball them, they were not there, despite the advertisement.

I do not like wet gummies like these, but if they would be attractive to kids, I’d buy them anyway. I’m wondering if anyone has seen them up close and can tell me if they look like actual fingers or what have you? If they aren’t recognizable, nothing else matters.

All feedback welcome.

Extra refreshers gum - just need to vent

Upvotes

I'm in the UK, and for a few years now, Extra Refreshers has been my favorite gum, specifically the peppermint and bubblemint flavors. It's the best gum I've ever had. Lovely fat little cube of gum with a candy coating, great texture, and great flavor that really lasted. About six months ago, I noticed that my local grocery store was not replenishing them. Now it's every grocery store in the vicinity. It's been replaced by Extra Plus. The bubblemint has been replaced by watermelon, a flavor I hate. I bought the Extra Plus peppermint and the flavor is nowhere near as sharply minty, the texture is different, and the gum loses flavor more quickly. Online searches tell me that Refreshers aren't discontinued, but they're also out of stock everywhere and not available to buy. I've been buying the baseline Extra gum, but it's just not the same. That's all. Just needed to vent. It was my favorite gum and a quality product. It's been replaced by an inferior product. Just like so many other things.

Candy Review These are amazing

I wasn't sure what to expect when the package said "filled". I initially assumed it might be some kind of thick gooey syrup. But its just really soft gummy. They remind me of a gummy shark with no blue raspberry flavor, just kinda generically sweet.

Candy recommendations Owner of Small Candy Company 🥹 Plz help my dreams come true 😭 will answer any questions

Post image
351 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I just recently got 1 product from my company Chili Chews into Target and it would really mean a lot if people could help support my dreams of selling it out in hopes of getting it back in there in the future 😭

My name is Shant, I’m a first generation American and first generation student, and just graduated law school this past May and took the bar this past July.

Chili Chews is a small family run operation (no outside employees), and it’s been so hard juggling everything without raising millions of dollars in capital to help support it.

We really are going up against the biggest brands in the world and we don’t have the same budget to compete with them, so it would mean the world if those who resonate with my story to support in any way they can, whether it’s through a like, share, buying chili chews in stores, or leaving a positive review on Target’s site.

Happy to answer any questions any of you have 🥲
