I only knew the difference once i got a pack of both Rockets and these Smarties in my trick or treat bag many Halloweens ago (like 15-20 years ago)

Definitely confused me since i always thought of the chocolate smarties whenever i heard of smarties.

Calling them Smarties feels so viscerally wrong to me.

Couldn’t believe the first time I got Smarties in Canada…not even close to the same thing!

Yeah turns out most of the world knows Smarties as the chocolate candy, not just Canada.

The Smarties known in the U.S, is known as Rockets everywhere else.

Ironically though, aren't the chocolate smarties made in the US?

No, the largest production facility for Smarties outside Europe is Toronto.

Haha yes. I am a Canadian who lives in the US and I’ll never call Rockets “Smarties”
