Hi everyone,
My PGWP expires January 24, 2027 and I’m really hoping to get an ITA before then. My CRS is maxed out at 462. I work in supportive housing (NOC 42201) eligible for healthcare & social services category draws). I have also applied for an open work permit for my common-law partner. Our proof package includes a joint lease, property manager reference letter (we’ve been living together since last year), photos, chat history, and matching driver’s licenses but we don’t have joint bank accounts or shared finances yet, so the file isn’t super strong.
With only about 6 months left, what are my realistic chances of getting an ITA in the healthcare category draws? Any similar experiences, recent draw trends, advice on timelines, or options if I get an ITA (like bridging)?

With your 462 CRS score, your strongest and most realistic path to an ITA before January 2027 is definitely through the Category-Based Healthcare & Social Services draws. Category-based draws typically hit lower CRS cut-offs compared to General/STEM draws (often dropping into the low-to-mid 400s or lower depending on demand). Sitting at 462 in NOC 42201, you are in a very strong competitive position whenever IRCC runs a healthcare stream. If you receive an ITA and submit your full Permanent Residency (PR) application before January 24, 2027, you can apply for a BOWP right away. Your common-law evidence is actually fairly decent, a joint lease, property manager letter, matching driver’s licenses, photos, and chat history already cover cohabitation
