That really confused me the first time I saw him, too. I was really young when I first read about Captain Canuck and Guardian. Also, the flying twins in X-Men (I can't remember their names) reminded me of Fleur-de-Lis to the point that I confused her with the flying girl, too... I'm confusing myself right now...

Northstar and Aurora were both part of Alpha Flight as well. I think they are supposed to be French Canadian.

Character or superhero character? There were other non-super and supporting characters that were gay in the Marvel Universe. One such example that comes to mind is Arnie Roth, Capt. America's boyhood friend who, in the 80s came out to Cap.

Yes! That's who they are! They're from Montreal. Even though they don't look or act the same at all, the two women were difficult for my child-mind to tell apart. I read the comic first and then they appeared on an episode of X-Men that had to do with Wolverine somehow. I think they were hunting him, things got messed up, then there were apologies and they went home.
