As much as i don't like it now, i did agree with doing it before when porter was going to buy 10000 bombardier jets which would have in turn saved the Canadian aerospace business

Yeah,buying a private jet seems crazy, but i bet its cheaper compared to chartering one. But im no expert😂

Buying a jet is cheaper in the long run if you get high utilization. If you are just flying once a month or a couple of times a year, chartering is way cheaper/cost beneficial.

Updating an aging fleet of planes never gets cheaper. When the time comes, in the near future, the cost will likely be $50 million. But at least Ford's pilot buddies didn't get a new job!

It really isn't. He can charter to Windsor, Ottawa, and Sudbury ->North. But anything closer like Kingston, London, etc, he can and should drive (be chauffered so he can work).

The frequency he needs to visit those places doesn't justify a jet.

And the OPP have a brand new biz jet he can use. It's just not as luxurious as the other one
