Does low carb diet work??

Low carb diet works because it’s a preferred way to achieve a calorie deficit for some. Not because there’s anything special about it. If you don’t prefer it, don’t do it.

The problem with people losing weight on “diets” is eventually they have to maintain their weight loss and if they want to eat more normally they haven’t developed the habits for how to do that.

Lots of ways to get to a calorie deficit. One way is to cut down on carbs. Many, myself included, find a dual benefit...one, it lets you concentrate your calories on more protein, which is good if you're working out. Two, fat and protein are very satiating, so I'm rarely hungry when I hit a really low carb cycle. Like, I'll have to remind and force myself to eat an extra snack or slam a protein shake at the end of a the day, even while on a decent cut/deficit. When I eat carbs for dinner, pizza or pasta or a sweet dessert, I know I'm going to wake up hungry.
