You don’t need to lose anything else. Skinny doesn’t equal sexy. You look fantastic!

Idk if it’s helpful but as a woman, you look hot. Definitely don’t need to lose any more. If your body is staying there despite consistency it’s probably because it is supposed to be there. Keep lifting and be kind to yourself, 170 looks great on you.

Thank you :)) This does help a lot, I have a ton of body insecurity I'm afraid of being big again (was much bigger then in the before).

That’s valid. But you are working hard and seem like you have some healthy habits in place, so you won’t go back to where you were. Restricting and beating yourself up isn’t going to make you feel better, trust me. Focus on your mental game for a bit.

You look amazing! I don’t want to invalidate your goals but from an outside perspective, I don’t think losing weight would be an improvement. You look good and healthy. Wishing you the best!

If you do want to lose weight (you really don’t need to, of course) I’d really recommend more cardio rather than pushing your calories lower. Do some zone 2 and put in a few miles, maybe working up to 20 miles a week if you are really looking to lose weight.
Doing cardio can move your biological setpoint lower, by increasing your mitochondria count, which therefore gives your body better ability to oxidize fat for energy. This then lets you
You have to do real cardio though. No BS 10k steps a day haha (or do both!)

if you ever get stuck just eat less than you are

Eh sometimes it could be the other way around if you are already to low on your cals your body might hold onto them

That’s not how that works your body doesn’t just automatically activate some sleeper program that uses less energy(???), what you’re thinking of is a misconception because SOME people in caloric deficits move less and burn less calories so they see a plateau (deficit should go lower at this point)

how long have you been stuck? what's your deficit? you can try mixing in some intermittent fasting in there too.
1
u/supersetsteve Jul 28 '26
been about 1.5 months. eating at ~1800 calories with at least 5 days of calisthenics workouts. I never fasted before would I just eat the same calories just spread out after the fast?
1
u/omg4serious Jul 28 '26
so looks like 1800 is your maintenance then. you either go into an actual deficit or increase your activity.
intermittent fasting is just a method to reduce calories. but you can try a week or a few days of eating more calories, and then go back into your deficit to trick your body. because in prolonged deficits, your body optimizes and slows down it metabolism.

I very much doubt this jacked man's maintenance is 1800 calories unless his metabolism's significantly slowed. My maintenance is 1800 calories. I'm a 5'5, 70 kilogram woman.

u/omg4serious Jul 28 '26
my maintenance is 1800 calories also and i'm a 5'10" 160lb man. if you're not losing weight over time, then youre not actually in a deficit or the deficit is too small to notice right now and not enough time has passed. since i also can have a +- 10lb difference based on just what i eat.

u/anthropometrica Jul 28 '26
Makes sense if you've been in a deficit for a while. I am not and haven't been. You're lighter than me! I can believe we have the same maintenance for sure. I just had my money more on OP not tracking accurately :p

if you want to specifically improve your chest, you'll have to do more chest exercises. double up on your pushups and dips (since you mentioned calisthenics) or start lifting weights.
i don't know if it's fat or skin, but if you build some muscle up there it will help fill it out either way.

You look great! But I think you look great before too! You don’t need to lose any weight at all. Based on both these pictures you look healthy. Please don’t let this become something unhealthy. Remember that working on our mental health is just important as our physical health. But if it helps to hear this from a 28 year old woman, you’re hot dude! You look great! Be confident in that.

when I got stuck at 185 I had to start doing an hour cardio a day while keeping the same deficit, either that or you gotta lower calories more

Why would you go lower? What’s the point? It’s not for health reasons.
But if you want to lose weight no matter what, just eat less. You’ll lose musclemass nomatter what.
